Offensive potential for Daylight Spell.

Rules Questions

Hey Everyone,

I was wondering if my Aasimar can cast daylight into an opponents eyes with a touch attack. If so would this render the creature stunned or blind? Saving throw?

Thanks!

You can't target creatures with Daylight.

Target: object touched

You touch an object when you cast this spell, causing the object to shed bright light in a 60-foot radius.

Looks like it can only be cast on an object. Best case scenario? You dazzle a creature with light blindness.

Works great against light-sensitive creatures

Yeah, that is the way it seemed to me too. I keep wanting to make "object" into any...um...thing.

With darkvision, seems funny that my archer has the ability to "turn on the lights" and I was hoping for a little more action out of the spell. Guess I will keep using daylight to help those poor characters that need something as trivial as light to see.

Thanks everyone!

I like "creative/flexible spell uses". The only "rule" I have in this situations is, that the "alternate" effect is always similar to a lower level spell.

E.g. for Daylight I would go with something like "creature of 6 HD or less loses its next action" (Daze Monster)

I like that idea Tryn...maybe if cast on a helmet visor? Of course it's up to the DM.

If you first kill the enemy, then he becomes an object, and therefore a legal target for the spell. ;)

So, if you kill a creature, cast Daylight on its eyes, and it gets raised as undead during the duration of the Daylight spell, will the undead be blinded?

There's actually a PFS scenario where this can happen.... Time to make an Aasimir and use a GM star replay! ^.^
