Are minor deities allowed for clerics in PFS?

I really like milini. (Haven't slept out of coffee D:). She fits all of my choices for a PC to a T every last thing I want out of a god. However that may just be due to one thing: when I first start playing ANY game. I go for support classes. Meaning if my cleric is allowed, all he would do is stand at the very back and rush about healing and buffing. But never raise a finger in a fight. Thus balancing him out because I can just stand at the back and cast healing spells and buffs and let the people with much larger muscles hit the scary monsters. He would rather have a rational discussion with a monster that wants nothing but his face torn off. He is not above tossing himself in harms way for his allies.

Hi, snickersimba. Welcome to Pathfinder Society; it's great to have you.

Rather than just answer "yes" or "no", I'm going to walk you through my research to make sure I'm correct.

Step One: Where is Millini described? Well, I check my copy of the Inner Sea World Guide and I find out that (a) her name is 'Milani', and (b) she's listed on pages 229 - 230, under "other gods". Terrific. I keep that book and the page numbers in mind, and then I head over to the document you always want to use when checking to see if something's legal.

(If she hadn't shown up there, I would have checked "Gods and Magic". If she didn't show up there either, I'd grow suspicious, but I'd check "Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Chronicles of the Righteous", since that book details dozens of good-aligned godlings called the "Empyreal Lords," who don't show up anywhere else.)

Step Two: What does the Additional Resources document say? There's a printable version that I carry to game days, but I much prefer the on-line version.

Look to the left of the screen, and click on the "Pathfinder Society" icon. Then, look above the messageboards, for the "Player Resources" section. Click on the link for "Additional Resources", and you'll be sent to a massive list of all the products that Paizo has published for its game world, and what's legal for play in Pathfinder Society for each.

After the Adventure Paths, there's a section headed "Pathfinder Campaign Setting". Most of the way down that list, between "Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Inner Sea Magic" and "Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Lands of the Linnorm Kings", you'll see the list for "Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Inner Sea World Guide". And it tells you there which gods are legal.

Remember: if you bring anything to the table as a player that's not in the Core Rulebook or the Pathfinder Society Guide to Organized Play (for example, Milani's domains), you have to bring either (a) the physical book, or (b) a pdf (electronic or print out) with your name watermarked on it. Otherwise, the GM is within his rights to disallow that aspect of the character.

(I actually don't Own the inner sea world guide yet. We can barely afford the cable bill as it is right now. Car issues) Anyways, I am guessing she is legal? Pretty much I am s$%% out of luck for money untill september, Thats when my birthday rolls about. Sorry I need more coffee. As mentioned, money is tight

Don't guess. Look it up. And again, if she's legal, you'll need to bring a copy of (a) the additional resources document, and (b) the source she's in, to the table.

Liberty's Edge

I did. Normally by I am guessing it means you have sucessfully confused me, but still managed to keep me in the flow and able to figure it out. That is rare. I don't own a phone, However I own a 3DS. Does that count for it. Sorry if I sound mentally retarded.

To simplify what Chris said...

How did you find out about Milani? What book is she in?

Once you have that answer, check out what the Additional Resources document says about her being legal.

Since you won't have the money until later this year I'd suggest choosing a deity from the Core Rulebook for now, for the character you have. You'll likely create more than one character eventually, so just put Milani on your "things to do" list =).

The Empyreal Lords are mentioned in the Inner Sea World Guild. I have Krawford worshiping Andoletta, the mother crow. Apt, as he is a Tengu.

Guys, just tell him. Come on.

give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime

That said to add Milani as a deity you follow you will need to own one of these books:

The Inner Sea World Guide, Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Gods and Magic, Pathfinder Player Companion: Champions of Purity

Teach a man to fish, and you feed him as long as he's near a body of water with fish in it. This dude's wandering in the desert.

I can live with that. I wanted a cleric of pharasma anyways. Just thought I would prepare a tad bit in advance and have a healer

The Exchange 5/5 RPG Superstar 2010 Top 16

Good news.

Clerics of Pharasma can heal, snickersimba. Good aligned clerics of neutral gods like Pharasma channel positive energy. Neutral-aligned clerics of neutral deities choose at the beginning of their careers whether they channel positive or negative energy. (Pharasma would probably be okay with either choice, but since she hates undead a whole lot, she'd probably be happier if her neutral clerics channeled positive energy.)

As a matter of fact, both Pharasma and Milani have the Healing domain, so you can rebuke death and empower your healing spells with either goddess as your patron.

They're helping him make a legal character: If he has the appropriate resource they've answered his question. If he doesn't have the appropriate resource, they're not misleading him into believing that he can legally make a cleric of Milani.

It would be pretty cruel of Chris to tell snickersimba that a cleric of Milani is legal on the forums, then run into him a week later at a con and tell him that he can't play his cleric of Milani since it's not legal because he doesn't have the appropriate additional resource.

As I said, pharasma and milani are the two most awesome godesses ever. Cleric of pharasma will have law and healing. Stats are pure defensive. Thanks guys! (If you are wondering were I went I fell asleep at my desk and spent the day sleeping)

Liberty's Edge

Oh and I found out about her via google. I googled pathfinder gods who have protection and healing for domains. I need to dig through my drawers to find my flashdrive

I beg to differ, unless of course you were planning on using a male pronoun to refer to me.

Snickersimba, Pharasma's clerics cannot have the Law domain unless you use the Separatist archetype, as this is a domain Pharasma does not normally grant. The Repose domain is a pretty good option.

As I said, Just woke up. Thanks guys! I will enjoy gaming with all of you. So long as it doesn't invole animal abuse. Plus I am shy as hell so I will possibly be LESS likley to jump headfirst into the role play. But then again I never have played pathfinder before.
