Weaponwand: Why not Sor / Wiz?

Rules Questions

The Weaponwand spell is Bard 1, Cleric 1, Inquisitor 1, Magus 1. Why not Sor/Wiz? Seems odd for them not to have a wand-related spell; and Sorcerers, at least, have enough weapon options to make the spell more useful. I'm personally considering a Sorcerer who's pretending to be a Monk, and this spell might come in handy.

Paladins, Rangers, and Druids also have lots of weapon options. You can't give every spell to every class.

Make your Sorcerer a Samsaran and take the spell that way.

You could... um... get a wand of Weaponwand, as created by a bard. As part of casting you could then insert a different wand into a weapon. That creates a hands issue, though. One hand holds WW wand, second hand holds the weapon, third hand holds the other wand.

Maybe the weapon is still in its sheath when you do this? Or on the ground?

That's advice though. This is the rules forum.

Why is it not a sorc/wiz spell? Because the powers that be decided to not make it a sorc/wizard spell. I don't think there's particularly a reason other than that.

Alternatively, you could be a staff magus and use your spellstrike/spell combat stuff with arcane mark to simulate Flurry of Blows.

If you're talking a private table and not PFS, just talk to your GM about researching the spell. It already exists as an arcane spell, so there's not really any reason why a Wizard or Sorcerer could not create a variant for it for their spellbooks.

I'm guessing it's that 1/2 BAB progression.

Maybe because sorcerers and wizards aren't generally built for melee combat, which is the only raison d'etre for this spell?

If you're pretending to be a monk, you can't embed wands into your arms, no matter what class you are.
