Im playing an enchanter and currently reseaching a new spell. Im trying to create a defensive compulsion spell with the working tittle "Repellent". Is is going to be level 2 and should powerwise be equal to Mirror image.
Im trying to find something that will keep me alive but aint to powerful.
All ideas are welcome.
The typical "repellent" spell would be sanctuary, but that's a divine spell. Alternately, protection from evil, but that has particular limitations as to what is repelled.
What exactly are you looking for? Are you wanting to prevent enemies from approaching you or attacking you? Do you want the prevention to be total (subject to the usual saving throw/SR) or punitive (they can approach, but they're sickened or treated as moving through difficult terrain)?
Well yes Sanctuary is a divine spell and also stops you from attacking/casting offensive spells. Protection from evil only really work on summons and otherwise mostly boost ac and save (Not saying its not a good spell).
What im looking for is something that will allow me to cast freely but otherwise fuction like sanctuary. That however is too powerful for a lvl 2 spell so i need ideas on how to make it more powerlevel appropriate.
