Strong tag-teams

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Let us share some ideas for strong two man tag teams.
If you want to do full builds feel free but what I like to see is the rough idea what makes this team so strong.
Whether both partners do something similar or totally different stuff is up to you.

I will start with a barbarian duo with strong self heal abilities:

self healing barbarians:

The basics are:
- Half-orc or orc barbarian
- 1+ level dip into life oracle for life link revelation
- celestial totem, lesser
Upgrades:
Flaming weapon + fire god's blessing
If 3pp is allowed the mythical healer feat works wonders, too.

Apart from that they can do (nearly) all the goodness other barbarians can do, too. Including freely using superstitious because non of his healing abilities allow for a save.

If you run into the situation that you generate (too much) overheal get the revelation that turns overheal into temp hp.

For curse you can take the classic lame to eventually get fatigue immunity

How about a classic Cavalier/Inquisitor team?

Between challenge and bane they can have a really good damage output. Moreover, they both get bonus teamwork feats they can share with each other allowing for a wide range of tactics, the final one of which would be coordinated charge. When one of them charges the other one can as well.

Combined with the cavalier's ability to execute a free bull rush manoeuvre with each charge and push the enemy back allowing another charge, you have velociraptor attacks, constantly criss crossing the enemy for massive damage.

Sounds good, too. But I guess it could be harder to pull off in actual combat. And the bull rush making more charges possible is only if the enemy doesn't close with you.
But never the less a nice combo.

dex-based weapon finesse using skirmisher with a keen kukri and the Butterfly Sting Feat

Combined with a high strength power-attacking fighter/Barbarian with a 2H axe or scythe.

This also works with, well, basically anyone using TWF and Kukris and someone with serious Crits. Got done in one game I ran with a Fighter using kukris and a Magus using a Light Pick. Yeah, the spell damage doesn't quadruple, but weapon damage does, and the spell does double...

Other good Tag-Teams:

Superstition-utilizing Barbarian + Any Melee Paladin. Lay on Hands isn't a spell, so emergency healing is readily available to the Barbarian, and they're two of the nastiest melee classes (and with great saves to boot), so they make great flanking buddies. Also, hilarious odd couple antics can ensue.

Druid or Summoner (basically anyone who summons bunches of stuff) + Bard. Most such summons are less than effective on their own, but stack Bardic buffs on top of Augment Summoning and you get some very impressive nastiness.

Two Witches. Leaving Coven aside entirely, many Witches get really nasty with a few turns to debuff foes...and that makes twoof them terrifying. Evil Eye followed immediately by Slumber in the same turn is hard to avoid, just for example.

Thinking about it, you can do this:
Master summoner + several bards: Vanilla for morale bonuses, Archivist for insight bonuses, dragon herald for natural armor boost.

Actually, I think I might make this guy as an evil guy. Give him a perform skill (for the fun of it) Like dance or sing, and have the bards be the rest of the band, and the summoned creatures the "background" singers/dancers. I shall call the Malvoso & the Shadowbeats. I've got to think of a decent music style though.

Edit: Archivist on the keyboard (synthesizer), Vanilla bard on the guitar, dargon herald on the drums. Summoner sings.

Don't forget a Court Bard to debuff the opposition!

I still want to do an all Bard party each with different bonuses some time...

I did start a thread on the subject last week...

Didnt garner much attention though.

Ok, but the court bard would be awesome. Have malvoso & the court bard as the singers.

Full caster + Full caster: Not much else is going to beat minions + 4 spells a round.

Summoner+Necromancy focused Wizard or Cleric
Minions, minions everywhere!
