Hexing runes question

Its a neck slot item, what happens if you use it to enhance your hex when you are preparing spells, then take it off for the rest of the day?

Do you still get the +1 DC to the hex?

And can you craft it if you do not have the ward hex (with the +5 to crafting DC for missing a pre-req?)

Probably no to the first one, although it doesn't say items stop giving bonuses when try are taken off. As for crafting, yeah, you don't have to have that specific hex, though the craft doc would be at +5


In general does a magic item that give a one use effect (e.g. cast a spell on you) stop working if you take it off?

Sane thing that happens when you use a Headband of Int to memorize more Wizard spells. You lost them (and the DC boost) when you take it off.

Things that say "1/day Shield of Faith" work fine if you take them off after.
