Valereos is a noob char in my opinion. Hes rather one sided and not that interesting to play. Pretty much you can win by spamming weapons and blessings untill whatever you are up against has been killed to death and then some. Don't get me wrong hes extremely enjoyable to play for beginners and has balanced stats, BUT he has a flaw of being just meh.

You know each character can only play one of each type of card per check, right? And only the character making the check can play a card that says "For your combat check".
Yes I know but by spamming weapons I mean he can just collect daggers and spiked chains and other things that are discardable. I know that stuff! Though hes got the D10 and a D8 for a lot of attacks with all his weapons meaning he can just kill everything

He is definitely more than capable in combat. He wouldn't be muchof a warrior if he weren't. :)
Lol yeah. However what I am saying is he is a noobs choice due to balanced stats and abilities because anyone who wants to play weapon based will pick amiri. Amiri is valereos on roids and had surgery to replace both arms with bazookas. However shes extremely newbie unfriendly due to burying of cards and unbalanced stats. Plus most new players will either pick valereos or lem because of spread.

I personally love Valeros. He is great at killing monsters, and killing monsters is a big part of RotR. He has the highest Median die for the "common" skills, meaning (assuming common distribution which isn't likely) that while he might not be great at dealing with a non-combat check, he's least likely to be really bad at it.
Give him some bows (which his recharge power also applies to) and he can recharge to assist with combat at other locations. And his free bonus to combat for other characters at his location is great. Wouldn't you love it if Lem's were free? In fact, I often try to encourage Lem to team up with him at a location in our group of 5.
I always recharge my weapon, even it I don't have another in hand. I'll just hope to draw one next turn or use my Melee. That is even more true once you increase his hand size a card or two.

Hehehe. I think he's making a crack at the spelling.
Anyway, Valeros is pretty awesome in my book. He's usually not that great at stuff like closing locations or providing a lot of utility, but he's one of the most reliable damage-dealers in the game. And he gives a nice bonus to people just by being next to them. He makes a great partner with Lem (or Lum :P), since they can boost each others checks when they're on the same location.

Yeah but he also suffers from being outclassed by amiri in damage dealing. Thus amiri>valeros

Strictly speaking in terms of raw attack, amiri is better but also more prone to over exerting herself and dying if she uses her power too much. OTOH, valeros recharges his weapon instead of discarding them. Given a good weapon, his recharge power is as good as amiri bury power. You seldom need more attack than 3d10+x on a normal monster anyway. Against the villain, everyone will be throwing blessings at you anyway.

Mechalibur was correct.
And yeah while Amiri might have more overall potential high rolls, most of the time Valeros rolls plenty high enough with his much safer and less damaging (to himself) abilities. I mean I'd still play her as a challenge but for the most part I think her more risky power for a higher bonus is kind of unnecessary. I'd definitely prefer Valeros if I were to pick the optimal party.

That's true - in fact we may actually see more and more locations that make that power shine. If so that could tip the scales. It's possible she might end up being a better "endgame" character, when you have more heals - who knows, may even a way to unbury a card and more things that make her movement ability useful.
