Bit of a silly question but if three PCs all have the Shield Wall feat and stand in a line (assuming all have heavy shields) would the middle person get a +4 from their two allies, or only a +2?

You form a unified defense with those around you.

Prerequisite: Shield Proficiency.

Benefit: Whenever you are wielding a shield and are adjacent to an ally wielding a shield who also has this feat, the AC bonus from your shield increases, depending on the shield wielded by your ally.

If your ally is wielding a buckler or a light shield, your shield bonus increases by +1.
If your ally is wielding a heavy shield or a tower shield, your shield bonus increases by +2.

You keep these bonuses even if your ally loses his shield bonus due to making a shield bash attack.

If an adjacent ally with this feat uses a tower shield to grant total cover, you also benefit if an attack targeting you passes through the edge of the shield.

If you are using a heavy shield (+2) and your ally is using a heavy shield, your bonus increases by 2, so +4. I think you'd actually receive a +2 from both allies, but it overlaps/doesn't stack because it's the same bonus. I could be wrong.

If your ally is a halfling with the helpful trait (+4 rather than +2 to aid another) and shield wall... it can get kind of awesome.

So would the Halfling give a +4?

The Feat increases an already-existing bonus. "the AC bonus from your shield increases, depending on the shield wielded by your ally." "your shield bonus increases by [+1/+2]." Are both indicators that the feat doesn't grant separate Shield Bonuses, but increases the Shield Bonus you currently have by that much.

In addition, the halfling would have to spend a Standard Action (or Swift Action/Attack of Opportunity with Swift Aid/Bodyguard respectively) in order to apply the Aid Another to AC to an adjacent ally, and would also require threatening an opponent adjacent to said ally and yourself. This feat works automatically as long as you are adjacent to a shield-wearing ally who also possesses this feat.
