Banish or Shuffle Undefeated Giant Gecko in Woods

Rules Questions and Gameplay Discussion

When I fail to defeat a Giant Gecko in the Woods, does the 'At this Location' text to banish undefeated monsters have priority over the Gecko's 'Power' to shuffle into another random location?

Is there some kind of rule of thumb for such situations (e.g. location supersedes card)? The "if the game
doesn’t specify an order for things, you decide the order." in the rulebook gives different results.

Thanks for the help.

Yes. The Golden Rule cover this.

Rulebook v3 pg2 emphasis mine wrote:

Rules: The Golden Rule

If a card and this rulebook are ever in conflict, the card should be considered correct. If cards conflict with one another, then Adventure Path cards overrule adventures, adventures overrule scenarios, scenarios overrule locations, locations overrule characters, and characters overrule other card types. Despite this hierarchy, if one card tells that you cannot do something and another card tells you that you can, comply with the card that tells you that you cannot. If a card instructs you to do something impossible, like draw a card from an empty deck, ignore that instruction.

So in the hierarchy location cards trump Monster (other types). Banish him. Lucky you.

what other cards do I use to 'randomize the location' he is shuffled back into?

Obviously, in the case to the Woods, as Hawkmoon says, the Gecko is banished.

Othewise, it's not like an escaping villain. You don't have to conceal which location the Gecko goes to. Just choose a location at random (roll a die). Shuffle the Gecko into that. You'll know the location, but you chose it randomly.

This is just a rhetorical question because no one has failed to defeat a giant gecko. :)

Does anyone think this is an interesting creature ability?
