Player X dies in adventure. He doesn't have enough PP to raise/res/what have you. Nor does he have enough cash to do it.
Can he combine and pay for his resurrection partially by PP and the rest cash? If he can, what is the exchange rate for PPs?
I am new to this society, and this player is more of a veteran, and has done similar activities in the past. Specifically, bought a magic item, paying partially with PPs and the rest by cash.
rulings?
Thanks in advance.

The price of a single purchase of an item or spellcasting service must be paid for using the same currency. If they are buying a weapon or wand it has to be done with either gold or PP, and not a combination of both. Same thing if they were buying a raise dead. It is gold or PP, and not both.
They could spend PP to cover the raise dead, more PP to cover the first restoration and gp to cover the second restoration needed to remove the negative levels.
The only time someone could make a hybrid purchase of sorts is if they were buying a +1 weapon or the like. They could use one transaction to spend PP on the MW weapon, and as a second transaction spend the 2000gp to make it a +1 weapon - all on one chronicle sheet.
If the player has been literally splitting the item cost of stuff he is buying between PP and Gold he will need to sell back the stuff if he can't afford it.
If those items are partially used or consumed potions, scrolls or ammo he will need to cover the costs, or start selling permanent items until he can make up the difference before playing again.
