Hello,
I am prepping my CC campaign, and I am planning to make use of the Gothic Compilation by LG.
I am trying to figure out good locations for the Grimoires, and I was wondering if any other GMs had used them? If LG is looking, I'd be curious if the authors had specific areas in mind.
My sense is that I want to fragment the tomes and spread them out to provide a kind of mystery while at the same time slowly doling out abilities found within. But it isn't clear to me at what point and/or level it would make sense for the players to obtain the full tome.
Thanks!

You should post this over on the Carrion Crown board and likely spoiler it too.
I also recommend you check out the threads there - LOTS of good supplementary stuff and data.
Carrion hill has some fun stuff as I think Shore to Sea that you can poach from.
PM me if you want I've a few things but truth be told I modified a lot of it from stuff I found of the CC board.

Hel,
Thank you for the reply! I did post on the CC board :) But you are right I should've spoiler-ed it, but now it is too late, ugh.
Thank you for the suggestions! Those are good locations. I am trying to decide if I want 1 or 2 to be in the box in HH.
I suppose the thing for me is the rate at which I dole them out, and at what point they should attain the entire book. I need to ponder on this a bit more.

What is the gothic compilation?
It is a compilation of the Legendary Games' supplements for CC. There was a kickstarter for a print version of it. They also have a listing here.

Actually, there is also a third, Feasting at Lanterngeist, an adventure Greg Vaughan wrote as a companion piece to the fourth installment in the CC AP, which Greg also wrote. You can purchase that adventure separately or as part of the hardback compilation that will be available in March once it arrives from the printers.
As for locations for the tomes, we didn't have specific ones in mind, though some of the suggestions made upthread are the same ones that I would have suggested - the university, the professor's personal library, the monastery library in #6, any of the various mad scientists in Trial, or with any of the more academically curious leader-types in #3 or #5.
