There is a large difference, imo, between trading watermarked pdfs of Paizo books, and this boon. The no-trading watermarked books is a matter of regulating piracy. Clear and simple. It's a matter of infringing upon intellectual property rights and denying Paizo their rightful profits.
This boon was not 'sold' in a traditional sense. It was from a Kickstarter, which really is more of a donation to a cause than anything, as there is no guarantee given on goals/payouts from kickstarter. Furthermore, piracy of boons has already been shown to be handled via trust rather than tracking watermarks, as Mike Brock has condoned trading scanned boons, which clearly wouldn't have watermarks.

Tempest_Knight, this quote from the Boon Trading thread is what made me retract any opposition I had to trading the Kickstarter boon:
Ummm... You can definitely send electronic copies.
Boons handed out at previous GenCons have actually been photocopies.
A lot of online games send out electronic chronicles.
All of the boons for the most recent PbP Games Day were sent out as electronic copies.
Also, Mike Brock has said the following:
Michael Brock wrote:(I can't link the thread as it is on the VO boards, but Mike has said that it is fine to quote him from that thread onto the public boards.)If you have a "standard" boon, then they can be scanned and emailed.
If you have a "special" boon (and they are all signed by me personally), with a raised seal and signed in metallic ink by me, then they have to be mailed via postal service, fedex, whatever. These are very few, including the goblin boons, auction boons, etc...

But, were does it address Watermarks?
That citation is referring to two things;
The "standard" convention boons, both physical and digital.
and
"Special" boons, all signed by Mike Brock in metallic ink with raised seal.
The Emerald Elixir boon is not a 'standard' convention boon nor it a "Special".

We still have the issue of generally not being able to trade watermarked PDFs.

We can start with the context, the citation, which incudes the citation of Mike Brock's, is dealing with Convention boons.

Yes, there is a note about digital Chronicles, but the context is Convention boons.
To support that Luke quoted Mike. Since we don't have access to the full tread, we must keep to the context it being cited to support. (Convention boons)

Describe the feature of the 'Standard' boon.
Will go out on a limb and say that it does not include a watermark...
In fact, going through my collection of Boons, only 1 has a watermark...
By the definition of the word 'standard' this would make watermarked boons non-standard.

Please cite where you are getting the idea that the Kickstarter boon is NOT in a separate category.

So you have no ruling to refer to that states water-marked boons are illegal for trade, so you want me to find a rule stating that they are legal for trade?
