But really, traps are not good when used as items set alone.
They really only allow for one character of the group (usually) to deal with them. And if the group doesn't have someone who can spot and disable them they are usually only a slight impediment. A few heals spells from your trusty wand of CLW and its like it never happened. If a trap is powerful enough to be a significant threat, its usually enough to outright kill people. Which is a pretty terrible thing to do to a party (killing someone when they had virtually no chance of success).
Traps are really only useful when combined with combat and can be more effective depending on the terrain of the combat area. In general I think traps are bad and don't employ them as GM, hence my earlier sarcasm.
In truth, I would let the type of NPC combatants determine what kind of traps would be good. For instance, creature with fire immunity would likely employ fire traps. If they set them off they're unhindered. But PCs wont enjoy such luxuries. Use traps to help control the flow of combat and force the PCs to move and act in certain ways. This can provide an advantage to the NPCs and make combat more challenging and interesting.

i know all of that Claxon, I was not asking if you liked traps or how to use traps, I was asking it anyone has a list of traps and what they cost. That is all.
So while I appreciate your input it is not what I am looking for. If you have a good place to find traps and their crafting costs great. And yes I am aware that I can go to the d20 list and work out the cost from there.

Well your original post is very vague and I wanted to caution against poor use of traps.
There is a list of sample traps, however they do not list a cost for each. They only provide a way to calculate it.

Look people come here all the time and ask a question, but often they're after something else entirely or don't really understand what they're trying to ask. You write two sentences and I see it and try to be a good guy (after making a joke) and try to give you some friendly advice about trap use in the game.

you gave me advice that did not help one iota, however i did say i appreciate it.
then you link me to something that is completely useless considering I had already said I can go to a more extensive list and then you told me I was being vague.
So yes I pointed it out that no, I was not vague, I was actually 100% clear with what I was hoping someone could help me with.
If I am "hostile" it is because you made an error in assuming something, then tried to tell me that your lack of being able to help was my fault. And that is irritating.
In any event this thread is certainly poisonous now, a shame it would have been nice to have such a list, perhaps I will make it myself.
