Serpent's Skull Minis

Serpent's Skull

Hey everyone,

Have any of you used the pdf minis, printed them out and such? I am thinking of doing it, but I am not sure what type of stock I should ask Staples to print them on for me. Also, how difficult are they to cut out once printed? Any suggestions?

Liberty's Edge

I used the pdf paper minis for Books 3 to 6. I printed them out at home on standard card stock. I'm defining standard card stock as the one option available at Target. Cutting them out is relatively time consuming, but easy enough to do while you watch tv or some other activity.

I actually paid my then 8 year old daughter a dime a mini to cut them out and glue them together for me. This method could cost you around $13 in production fees though.

Another thing I did was not bother cutting out the medium-sized mooks. I have plenty of medium-sized metal minis, so if there were like 10 zombie paper minis, I didn't bother. I just put out 10 assorted medium-sized humanoids. This will save you a lot of cutting time if you are okay with it.

But the standard card stock worked well?

We've been using the paper minis since Serpent skull and they really do go great.

I would think almost any sort of card stock would work pretty well.
I used the paper minis for all six books and LOVED them. Can't recommend them highly enough. But I printed them just on regular printer paper. Yes, it made them quite light and the occasional sneeze would send them flying (this actually only happened once), but it made them very easy to fold up and transport. *shrug*
And agree with Sweater Golem. I recruited my wife to help me cut and glue them while we were watching TV in the evening. Didn't take long to put them together at all (at least on regular paper).

Yeah the standard card stock worked well. I did accidentally print some out on regular paper, and they were workable, but I did prefer the weight of the card stock.

I will paper minis next time I GM. I definitely recommend them.

I printed these on a mixture of 160-300 gsm cardstock, as I am keeping them for future games. I used 300 for the larger ones mainly, plus I added thicker bases.

I am working my way through these at the moment. I have added some little inserts to fatten up the bottom and cut it flat so I can use them in my pawn bases instead of the bases they come with. They should store nicely flat this way. Tiny, gargantuan, and colossal I used the included bases since pawns don't come that small or large.
