Aluum vs. Golembane?

Hello imaginary friends,
Golembane scarabs say (X bonuses vs. golems, detect golems).
Aluum stat block doesn't have golem subtype - but such doesn't exist; clay/flesh/iron/stone golems don't have golem subtype either. Stat block does include "Invulnerability to Magic".
Flavor text in "Dark Markets" mentions golems indirectly.

Would you rule that Golembane "pings" on and works against Aluum? I'm leaning towards "yes" due to species similarity, but I'm interested in reading alternate views.
Thanks,

Well, if it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, acts like a duck, it's probably a duck.

IMO, no. Here's why.

First, not all constructs are golems, and per the description of the golembane scarab you should not allow it to be beneficial against non-golem constructs. (Otherwise the description would say "constructs" instead of "golems").

Thus, the second question is whether an aluum is a golem or not. Innnnterestingly, the preamble "Unlike other golems..." in the 3E creature description in Dark Markets was removed from the text for the PFRPG stat block in the ISWG. There is therefore nothing in the PFRPG creature description suggesting that it is technically a golem. Similar to a golem, yes, but not an actual golem.

I'd say no.

Nothing directly refers to golems. The differ from golems in that they are powered by soul of slaves and prisoners, where golems are powered by an elemental spirit.

If it came up in a game I was GMing? Sure, go ahead, since you have that golembane scarab already, you definately get to use it.
