Mythic Tiers and CR Adjustment "Templates"

Hi,

I'm running a Mythic game where the players have gotten their First Tier and are on their way to their second. One of the players has asked about becoming a half dragon(template) instead of going the Mythic route. Are their any CR conversions for Mythic characters that a GM can use to determine if that would be appropriate? Any resources that break down the more common "templates" into tiers like the Mythic system? Have any of you allowed similar alternatives to the Mythic Tiers when running a Mythic campaign? Thanks in advance for the answers.

Roughly speaking, each mythic tier is worth 0.5 levels so the half dragon template (+2 CR) would be worth about 4 mythic tiers. I haven't heard of any official way to breakdown templates into tiers, but I think you could break down the benefits so they could be gained gradually.

Keep in mind though templates are quite difficult to balance in terms of CR adjustments. Obviously, with a +8 to Str this template would be much more beneficial to a martial character than a caster. Do some math on the PC to make sure the adjustments won't create balance issues in your game.

I know back in 3.5 there were some different charts for breaking down CR adjustments, but there was more of an emphasis on that sort of thing in 3.5 I think.

They're supposed to be... but I would disagree, at least insofar as the mythic to non-mythic comparison goes. The jump from non-mythic to Tier 1 is significantly larger than the jump from Tier 1 to Tier 2.

I agree with that. I round up, instead of the typical down, when considering the odd numbered tiers.

So, a +2CR "template" would be the equivalent of 3-4 Mythic Tiers? It seems that it wouldn't be too hard to split up most "templates" across a few Tiers.
