Bloody skeletons are great! With only a few exceptions their nigh un-kllable. Make one and it comes back again and again. They've got 101 uses.
However, they're dripping with blood and kind of gross. So if I wanted to make a bloody skeleton to use as a pack animal (or whatever) how could I dress it up to make it just a little less disgusting for the Neutral-ish party to deal with?
Throw a sheet on it? Illusions? Cardboard box? How have you done it in the past.

You can use Disguise Other and make it permanent, or make a wondrous item that makes it permanent.

I remember I played a Bloody Skeletal Champion in one of our games. It was hidden by covering myself in layers and layers of bandages, which were washed and dried nightly since I didn't sleep.
Even better, just keep casting Prestidigitation on it whenever the bandages start to get soaked.

That's not bad. Create some sort of prestidigitation at will item and cover the thing in fabric. cantrip level magic is fairly cheap.

"Do they have to be so... gross?"
"They are animated skeletons. Bloody animated skeletons. The living dead... they are supposed to be gross".
"Well yeah, but do you think we could make them look less gross, but still have all the gross benefits?"
"..."
And thus the Hello Kitty skeleton was born.

I had an intelligent bloody skeleton NPC in one of my games. (Not as absurd as it sounds, it did make sense in the storyline)
I just refluffed him to be more mummy-like, all dried flesh and sinews that would kind of "melt" back into place after being injured.
Ask your GM if you can alter the fluff, simplest option. Maybe at the cost of some additional ritual or more material components. I'd allow it but then again I'm pretty lenient when it comes to refluffing stuff.
