Tribute in Absalom

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

I was looking at Absalom for an upcoming campaign, and it suddenly hit me...

Lord Gyr of House Gixx is Lord Gary of House Gygax.
His less successful rival and childhood friend Lord Arnson is Lord (Dave) Arneson.

Mind blown. Are there any other little tributes like this hidden in Golarion?

I can't look at Queen Galfrey of Mendev's name without thinking "Gallifrey" instead.

There were a number of small easter eggs like the one you found that were included in the Campaign Setting and the other early books. Most were edited out in subsequent books (such as the Inner Sea World Guide) once they were discovered. One that comes to mind is the Slohr.

There are a few others peppered about. Quite a few anagrams and altered spellings of things folks on the staff over the years have respected and wished to pay homage to. In most cases, though, they are more similar to the examples the OP and Alleran mentioned rather than lifting a name and concept whole cloth from another source.

I always assumed Clydewell Plaza was a nod to Clyde Caldwell.
