Alchemists and Craft Construct

Rules Questions

Okay, I know there have already been a number of threads on this subject (I've read most of them), and I doubt there is anything to be done for me, but I thought I'd try anyway. Is there any way within RAW an alchemist can obtain the craft construct feat. My GM is entirely opposed to house ruling, and I've been playing my alchemist for quite a while now, and I really want to be able to create golems and homunculus. I know what the FAQ says about alchemists not having caster levels (though it also states that this is an issue they plan to fix. Someday.). I'd just like to know if there is any way, even a loophole, to get this feat as an alchemist. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

What's your race?

While I'm on the subject, is there anywhere I can request some errata be put out on this? The FAQ stating this was a known issue was posted back in March, and no word of it has come up since. It seems like it would be a pretty quick and easy fix. They could do anything from adding a golem/homunculus making discovery, giving the alchemist animate object and permanency formulas, or simply counting the alchemist as having caster levels. Even an archetype that allowed creation of golems and homunculus would be helpful. After the carrion crown module and the serpents skull players guide, there is already RAW material supporting this fix, and from the multiple posts I've read, there are at least a few people who'd really like to see it happen.

My race is human.

I doubt they've forgotten about it.

Now, the best way to go for Craft Construct is to get a spell-like ability. After another recent FAQ, Spell-like abilities give a caster level that can be used to get the craft feats (or any other feats, really). I don't think there are any core SLA-discoveries for the alchemist, but you might be able to pick one up from the splat books.

Or, if you are a race that gets a SLA, you're in luck.

The important part is that the caster level of the SLA is equal to your level, so race-based ones are good for this. For example, the Envoy alternative racial trait for elves would work.

This would be great, if I can find one. It's too bad I'm human, but I'll look for any other SLAs I can get. BTW Cheapy, this post and your previous posts on the issue have been very helpful. Helped me find a lot of the info I was looking for. Thanks! :D

No problem, this is definitely something I want to see in the core rules too!

The Svirfneblin discovery Darkness Bomb probably counts as a (Sp). Unless there's text saying that unless otherwise noted, an alchemist' discovery is (Su).

Silver Crusade

Let's not forget picking up Wendifa Apprentice for a scaling SLA, or the campaign trait Touched by Divinity, which gives a domain spell (much better obv), which could easily be an arcane spell to qualify. It's an oversight, and an annoying one too, but you should be able to work around it.
