Seattle International Film Festival is playing the Knights of Badassdom on Tuesday Jan 21st at the SIFF Cinema Uptown.
Peter Dinklage and Summer Glau...yeah, sign me up!
Tickets Knights of Badassdom.
KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM follows three best friends (Peter Dinklage, Steve Zahn and Ryan Kwanten) and dedicated LARPers (Live Action Role Players) as they take to the woods to reenact a dungeons and dragons-like scenario fresh out of the mythical Middle Ages. Trouble arises after they unwittingly conjure up some serious evil in the form of a blood-lusting Succubus, from the pits of hell. Fantasy and reality collide on the Fields of Evermore in an all-out epic battle of make-believe wizards, demons and assorted mythical creatures. Their courage and friendship is put to the test as they attempt to vanquish the evil they have summoned. Will the group prove to simply be foam sword-wielding LARPers, or true “Knights of Badassdom?”
So is this available on DVD yet?
I've been waiting for this movie to come out for years! I'll likely be there on the 21st!
I think there are some legal problems that prevent the release.
I just wish I'd known about the movie when they were filming, since it was done on the land where they hold our local Ren Faire every year. Being an extra would have been fun.
Seattle-area folks! More showings have now been added on the 24th and 25th:

A bunch of us Paizonians went tonight, and it was delightful (albeit gory). Recommended!
Waiting the loooooong wait til this arrives in Australia

And they wonder why we are a Pirate nation.

Going to see it tonight with some friends.
I, too, have been waiting a long time for this movie. Feels like years, but maybe not.
Saw it, liked it a lot. I went prepared to have to cut it some low-budget slack, but it's actually quite well done for an indie and pretty funny and entertaining. See it if you get the chance.
Yep, totally worth the viewing.
I own it and haven't had a chance to watch it yet ... that's what happens when you spend the day with a 4 year old and fall asleep at 9PM ... maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow, definitely Saturday.
It was worth the wait. Finaly a movie that realistically portrays LARPing, well until

Just watched it on demand with my wife. We both loved it, and like my wife said, it was infinitely better than all 3 D&D movies. Better than all the other rpg/larp comedies we've seen too (Unicron City, etc).
It was a fun movie actually. I didn't expect whole lot from it, but they had done their work right. I enjoyed it :D Realistic portrayals of larping was great.
Where are you all watching this? I really want to see it.
I will likely get the soundtrack, just don't have the money to get it right now, so much for a signed copy :-(
This was an awesome movie; it's for free viewing on Xbox Live today. I will definitely buy it when the price comes down. It is like a bigger budget, bigger cast names version of The Gamers. Can't believe that Dinklage did this, but so glad he did.
Great music too!!!
I watched this over the weekend also because it was free on xbox live. A lot of fun.

Must go back for the treasure with a metal detector. I believe burnished steel is the one that develops a mirror shine when you spend five hours polishing it with a whetstone.
