Spell Sunder all the things!

Rules Questions

Shadow Lodge

I'm interested in playing a barbarian who will at some point pick up the Spell Sunder rage power. It seems both ridiculous and awesome and I want to make sure I'm grokking it properly:

If I'm in the area of effect of a Deeper Darkness, I can Spell Sunder the darkness.

If I fall into a Create Pit, I can Spell Sunder it and ride the elevator out.

If I see a Cloudkill rolling my way, I can step up and Spell Sunder it.

If a mage summons a Tyrannosaurus Rex, I can Spell Sunder the dino, end the Summon Monster spell and not bother with killing it.

Is this all correct?

I attack the darkness!

Sounds about right.

I believe the answer to your questions is yes. You can end pretty much any non-instantaneous spell or spell like effect with spell sunder.

Yes.

Any ongoing spell effect, you can end.

It should work on magical traps too.

Spell Sunder is absolutely the coolest Rage Power in the game. Close second is Eater of Magic for reasons that should be obvious from the name alone.

Indeed. I love my Superstitious, Spell Sunder, Eater of Magic Barbarian.

Virtually immune to any magic! Once you can rage cycle you're a caster's nightmare.
