Standard move

Beginner Box

Hi,

i have an question about the moves you can do in 1 turn the BB heroes handbook says, free move, move, standard move.

now, i as a cleric have strengt surge and it gives me a +1 attack bonus for 1 round, now can i do this surge and still attack? or do i need to wait for the next turn? what confuses me because it only lasts 1 round

Thanks in advance

Greetings Yannick and Kim

I'm not familiar with the beginners box but I believe you are confusing the word Move with the word Action. Free, move, and standard are all types of actions.

As for the cleric strength surge, it requires a standard action. The "1 round" would end at the beginning of your next turn. So while you can use it on yourself, it would be more effectively used on someone else. Under normal circa trances you would not be able to use the bonus. There are some cases you would however. The benefits are small at low level, but much better later on.

I hope that helps.

so strength surge is kinda useless when i am on my own? becuase i cannot attack after casting strength surge

That's correct: strength surge is something you cast on an ally (it works that way in the full rules of the game, too, which I personally find disappointing, but that's the way it is...).

If the ability is used on yourself, you can use your move action to get the bonus on a swim or climb check, and you will get the bonus if an opponent provokes an attack of opportunity from you. There are other situations where you can use the power's bonus, but I think those are the most likely.

aww thats to bad, i would really have liked it to have an class that would buff him self just before he starts hitting. ill stick with buffing my allies then ^^

thanks for all the information
