A Bard / Oracle / Sorcerer multiclass?

Advice

My friend is hosting a one-shot campaign and we're starting at level 3. While I could just go for a level 3 Wizard or something, I thought I may as well take advantage of the situation and play an interesting level 3 character that doesn't age well.

Like a Wizard/Witch/Magus

Or an Inquisitor/Monk/Empyreal Sorc

Or a Bard/Oracle/Sorc

What crazy multi-class would you consider for a level 3 one-shot?

Fighter 1 / Wizard (Scryer) 1 / Eldrich Knight 1 is a possibility.

Oracle 1 / Sorcerer 1 / Mystic Theurge 1 is another one.

Your multiclass options are still weaker than the straight classes. At 3rd lvl you will probably want a martial as casters do not have strong spells yet. If you go with caster, go with wizard 3 or cleric 3 for access to 2rd lvl spells. For interesting multiclassed characters, think of a particular nitche of the character that you want to improve. For example, make a Heavens Oracle 1 / Sorcerer 2 that focuses on Color Spray (with the appropriate bloodlone that enchances the use of illusion /pattern spells, cannot recall now).

Sovereign Court

1 spellslinger (Wizard)/Bard (Archeologist) 2, the gun mage is born. Just literally dipping into wizard to get firearms proficiency, the ability to enhance your gun with arcane magic, the ability to make guns etc...then just focus on the charisma, bard part for cheese maximus.

Monk/Rogue/Fighter

Be ALL of the useless.

Scarab Sages

Unarmed Fighter 1/MoMS 2 for complete mastery of a style at level 3.

Crusader Cleric of Calistria 1/Martial Artist 1/Fighter 1 for a Flurry of Whips.

I agree. Having crane wing and crane riposte by 3rd lvl will let you solo many BBEGs of the appropriate lvl without getting hit once.

That being said, I think that 2 lvls of MoMS are enough for haveing all three feats. First lvl is crane style as a normal feat and crane wing as a bonus feat. Second lvl is crane riposte as a bonus feat. Done. Am I wrong?

It could be interesting though to have Dragon Style, Dragon Ferocity, Tiger Style and Tiger Pounce all by 3rd lvl. Through in Monk of the Sacred Mountain for Toughness as a bonus feat and you have an excellent frontliner. Or maybe Dragon Style, Dragon Ferocity, Elemental Fist and Marid Style.

You would have to be Human, because first crane feat has dodge as a prerequisite.

You would have to be Human, because first crane feat has dodge as a prerequisite.

In the prereqs of Crane style in the pfsrd it is written:

Prerequisites: Dodge, Improved Unarmed Strike, base attack bonus +2 or monk level 1st.

The way I understand it is that if you have one lvl of monk you can ignore every other prereq, including dodge. It might as well override only the BAB requirement though. Is there any more specific ruling about how to handle this?

Scarab Sages

The placement of the commas indicate that the Monk level is a substitute for the BAB, not all prerequisites. For example, here is the listing for Tiger Pounce:

Prerequisite: Improved Unarmed Strike, Power Attack, Tiger Claws, Tiger Style, base attack bonus +9 or monk level 8th.

If you are monk 8, you cannot take Tiger Pounce if you haven't also taken Tiger Style and Tiger Claws.

I see. It is a shame that it works like this for the monk but it makes more sense. Thanks.

I'd go with Bard/Sorc/Magus and get a Ring of Wizardy I to double your spellcasting across the board.

If you go Magus, you go magus 3. The first 2 lvls are mandatory as you take spell combat and spellstrike, and you cannot use them with non-magus spells anyway.

There is a point in Magus 2 / crossblooded Orc-Dragonic Sorcerer 1 for more blasting power.

Scarab Sages

Inquisitor / Cleric / Druid. Insane number of first level spells and 3 domains.

Shadow Lodge

Go deaf Oracle1/Archaeologist bard1/Seeker sorcerer1 for trapfinding, luck bonuses to a bunch of stuff [better with fate's favored trait], silent spells, and three different spell lists for UMD and a ridiculous UMD checks. Go with a reach build and the time mystery for the Initiative revelation to help with the deaf penalty, as well as the Reactionary trait, and knock yourself out.

Or you could go with an Aasimar Mysterious Stranger/Ninja/Fighter with the feats Point-Blank Shot, Rapid Reload[Pistol] and Precise Shot, or drop Rapid Reload for Arcane Strike.

Rogue/Fighter/Barbar

Druid/Cleric/Oracle for all the Orisons!

Thanks for all the ideas! Oh, random thing to keep in mind; we do BAB stacking, so...

An Inquisitor/Monk/Sorcerer would have...

3/4 BAB + 3/4 BAB + 1/2 BAB or a total of 2 BAB.

Shadow Lodge

Dual-Cursed Lame Tongues Oracle1/Paladin2 to never fail a save. Take misfortune, extra revelation[War Sight], and once you get divine grace, you will have stupid saves, incredible initiative, and once a day you can roll the one save you fail again. And of course, smite evil lay on hands goodness, and fate's favored trait for divine favor. With a masterwork weapon, you are looking at a +12 to hit for xdx+12 or +13.

Freebooter/Trapper Ranger1/Paladin1/Bloodrager1 for incredible damage potential with a +15attack for xdx+14 or +15

This one has to be an aasimar to qualify for EK.

This one doesn't work as MT requires 3 skill ranks before you enter it. You also have to be an aaasimar and take the terrible Wood Mystery for Bend the Grain.
