Soul Forger Magus and Familiar Arcana

So the Soul Forger Magus archetype gets an arcane bond that must be a weapon.

The Familiar Arcana gives you a familiar, not an arcane bond just a familiar.

So if a soul forger magus takes the familiar arcana is there any problem with this?

I know the general rule is you only get one arcane bond type, and a familiar can be an arcane bond, but does a familiar have to be an arcane bond, and does having an arcane bond with an item preclude you from having a familiar?

Liberty's Edge

Specific rules trump the general rules. Since the magus arcana for a familiar does not specify that it is an arcane bond, in this situation your character could have both. Unless you strictly follow RAW and there is an FAQ on the subject stating otherwise.

The magus gains a familiar, using his magus level as his effective wizard level. This familiar follows the rules for familiars presented in the arcane bond wizard class feature.

The thing is the rule about "not having both" is tacked on only to certain other abilities (not the wizard's version of Arcane Bond itself).

Similarly, the advanced rogue talent Familiar doesn't seem to have this restriction.
