Any way to be resurrected after your soul is eaten?

Soul was eaten after some crazy DC28 fort save fail. Any way to come back from that or is it new character time?

Depending on what did it, it could be as simple as killing whatever ate you or as difficult as getting a miracle cast.

Usually things that kill you won't kill you permanently, just require a caster level check if they eat your soul in some manner.

You are probably referring to The Four Horsemen.

The PrC Souleater have a pet Cacodaemon with the Soul Lock special attack. It sais:

Any attempt to resurrect a body whose soul is trapped in a soul gem requires a DC 12 caster level check. Failure results in the spell having no effect, while success shatters the victim’s soul gem and returns the creature to life as normal. If the soul gem rests in an unholy location, such as that created by the spell unhallow, the DC of this caster level check increases by +2. The caster level check DC is Charisma-based.

Miracle is not needed. Raise Dead and Reincarnate can work just fine.
