After seeing some fantastic examples of 3D terrain for various scenarios, I decided that I would like to try my hand at building my own 3D terrain. However, since this will likely be a large investment of time and money I want to make sure that the scenario I build it for is relatively uncommon, so that I can run it for a large number of groups(both locally and at cons).
The scenario I was thinking about was Haunting of Hinojai, but since it's an older scenario I have no idea what % of PFS players have played it. Does anyone have some numbers I could reference?

The confirmation would be the most logical choice but would be a real challenge given difficulty in building it. In terms of functionality the Blackros museum makes a lot of sense in terms of re-use. It is very suitable for Hirst Arts or Dwarven Forge and being chiseled out from a single slab of basalt it should be fairly easy to paint!
I made a 3D Hirsts Arts Dungeon of To Delve The Dungeon Deep and Master of The Fallen Fortress which got a lot of use. My Infernal Vault terrain though has been great as a demonstration scenario at conventions or other events as it us a fun, fast running dungeon bash.

I built a 3D version of the Dragon's Lair flipmat by drawing a 1" grid on several sheets of corrugated cardboard, cutting them out, and then layering them on top of each other. It would likely be easy to do for the Darklands flipmat that The Confirmation uses.
...actually, I have the next two days off. Perhaps I'll do just that...

I recently built a spreadsheet to help me keep track of this data for my own store. I can tell you that at Redcap's Corner in Philadelphia Mists of Mwangi and Among the Living have been played the most. King Xeros of Old Azlant has been played the least.
If you want it to be really special, though, I'd suggest choosing one of the 1st level sanctioned modules. Those are both rarely played and replayable.

replayable, and I've seen a bunch of games where people found the ship map very confusing. If you could build the ship as a stackable 3D model, which you could unstack once people had seen it and got an idea of how the layers go together, it would probably work better.
Also it would be an impressive model.
