So, my question is, can you memorize, lets say, a fire spell as a Rime spell? Im inclined to think its no, but the feat itself is worded in a way where im not entirely sure.
As for why I would want to do it? With a Sorcerer dip for the Elemental Bloodline, allowing me to convert the energy type of a spell as im casting it. I would have more versatility, since I could fx prepare a fireball as a rime spell, converting its type to frost when casting it, but keeping it as fire if fx the enemy is resistant to frost or vulnerable to fire.

I'm not sure if you've answered my question. I'm aware it has to deal cold damage to get the benefit, but does it have to deal cold damage by default to be allowed to apply the metamagic feat to it? Normally this question isn't worth asking, since you wouldn't have a reason to do so without adding the Elemental Spell metamagic feat as well.

Nothing in the feat says it can only be applied to a spell that deals cold damage. It does say it has to have the Cold Discripitor, which your bloodline would do. Yes, your combo will work. I see you want to dip, This also works with Admixture specialization school if your a wizard. Diping as a full caster should be avoided if possible.

The build will revolve around getting as much juice as possible out of Produce Flame, using a Cleric (Fire Domain) with the Theologian Archetype and both Metamagic Master and Magical Lineage Traits.
Optimal? Not even remotely, but with Two Weapon Fighting, Arcane Strike (using a racial Spell Like Ability to keep the effective caster level up) and adding metamagics to debuff, it will make for a fun switch hitter.

Metamagic feats cannot be used with all spells. See the specific feat descriptions for the spells that a particular feat can't modify.
This feat only affects spells with the cold descriptor.
You cannot prepare a rime version of a spell that does not deal cold damage. Spontaneous casters who can modify the damage type of a spell as they are casting (such as the elemental sorcerer bloodline you mentioned) should be able to rime a spell modified to deal cold damage, as spontaneous metamagic is also applied at time of casting.

Damn, this basically forces the build into Elemental Spell Feat for another +1 spell level.
If only there was a way to get Produce Flame as a sorcerer...
At each class level beyond 1st, the Arcane savant chooses a spell from any class’s spell list and thereafter treats it as if it were on the spell list of his base spellcasting classes; if his base class could not normally cast that spell, it is treated as 1 level higher. The spell’s type (arcane or divine) and save DCs function as normal for his base spellcasting class. All other restrictions of his normal spellcasting class apply. This ability does not allow other spellcasters to prepare, cast, or use spell trigger or spell completion items of esoteric spells (such as a sorcerer using a cure light wounds scroll).
You'd have to wait till level 7 and would still have to grab it as a spell known and it would be 2nd level.
