I am considering picking up the Pathfinder Beginner Box to introduce my kids to role playing. Can the community advise if the BB hard stops at 5th level or if there is a possibility to play beyond 5th level without buying the Core Books. I saw there was a transition PDF to easily move you into the core products but I was hoping to keep things simple as my kids are fairly young.
Thanks in advance for your help.

The Transitions PDF gives you the rules for advancing the included 4 classes to Level 6, which in my opinion doesn't terribly complicate your game.
Happily, this is also the stopping point for the popular variant of D&D/Pathfinder system, "E6".
In this system, basically everyone levels up to Level 6, and can then continue to improve by taking more feats. For Pathfinder, some people use an "E8" variant of Pathfinder (or "P8"), but Level 8 goes beyond what you'd find in the Transitions PDF.
Here is a link to the E6 system: E6
Theoretically, you could borrow the Base Attack and Saving Throw progressions from the Core Rulebook to go above and beyond Level 6 (all of the full 20-level tables for each class are up on the online PRD). But higher-level Pathfinder isn't designed to play that way: higher-level monsters have defenses and attacks that assume certain abilities on the part of player characters -- things such as Spell Resistance, many kinds of Damage Reduction, the ability to teleport away, etc., etc.

You can get a good idea of what's covered in the Beginner Box (including levels) here.
For kids, it more important to have fun and use their imaginations, so don't worry too much about the rules--make them up as you go along.
You can get a lot of variety out of the Beginner Box, even through 5th level by mixing up the challenges and rewards.
Then as Rot Grub suggested there are ways to expand the BB by bringing in the freely available Core components.
Good luck!

You can make your own rulebook to advance up to 8th or 9th level and keep things simple just as I did take a look, you can even include new creatures or playable races to the rooster of the beginner box, it,s pretty easy with the info on the PFSRD
P.D. the pics are so small because they're just samples, I don't think they complain with the paizo OGL, but since they are only for my personal use it's ok.
Happy rolls
