Large Weapon Cost + Special Materials?

So, tonight during a game of The Dragon's Demand, a fellow player brought in a titan mauler barbarian who is currently wielding a Large weapon made of adamantine that he supposedly crafted. We're only 3rd level, and I was (And still am) under the impression that the double cost of a Large weapon applies to the special material as well, considering you're using double the normal amount of material to make the item. Is this legal?

An adamantine weapon is a flat 3k, regardless of size.
An adamantine dagger and an greataxe are the same 3k.

Mithril, on the other hand, is charged by weight.

Considering adamantine is added to the cost of the weapon, I'd still say the Large cost doubles everything. I'd love to get a developer response, but I know that chance is slim.

It's been covered on the boards here quite a few times, it doesn't multiply - flat costs are added at the end.

Devs have commented on the previous threads, including on the mithril weapon shenanigans.

:)

Think about it though.

An Adam Dagger weighs 1 pound = 3k
A 'large' adam dagger weighs 2 pounds = 6k
An Adam Great Axe weighs 12 pounds = 3k

Doesn't make a lot of sense does it?

Pathfinder isn't a game of economics, it's an RPG. Special material prices don't always make logical sense. They were born of a need to balance the game, but there will always be corner cases that will skew the results.

Mithral dagger: 502gp
Adamantine dagger: 3002gp

Mithral greataxe: 6020gp
Adamantine greataxe: 3020gp

If this is a home game your GM is free to houserule his/her own prices. Personally I'd suggest banning crafting altogether, as it can drastically upset WBL, but that's just my opinion. Your GM is likely (or hopefully) already keeping an eye on it.

The Large Weapon needed to be a one handed weapon, since Titan Maulers can't wield Large Two Handed weapons.

Large Adamantine Longsword = 3030 gp = (3000+15*2)

If the special material is "always masterwork" put it's cost in the Masterwork Component phase of the crafting.

In the case of the Large Adamantine Longsword the two phases are:
Masterwork Adamantine 3000 gp DC 20 and he would pay 666 gp 6 sp and 7 cp.
Normal Longsword 30 gp DC 15 and he would pay 5 gp

let's say he rolls a 20 on every craft check and let's say he is crafting a large martial weapon.

3030*10=30300 silver pieces

20*20=400

30300/400 = 78 weeks it took him to craft that thing.

Except it is two separate craft phases:

30000/400 = 75 weeks for adamantine part
30/300 = 1 weeks for the weapon part

But if he accelerated it:
+10 DC (So DC 30 for Adamantine and DC 25 for Weapon)
30000/900 = 34 weeks
30/750 = 1 day

Did he start with the weapon? Dont they take a loooooong time to craft?
