Roleplaying Multclassing to a spellcaster

Advice

Can anyone help me think of ways for a fighter to roleplay his way to knowing magic all of the sudden? Not sure if it matters, but he wants to take levels as a Magus. Also, my druid wants to take levels as an Oracle.

I was thinking he could take classes at an Arcane University, and I guess the Druid has to somehow come into contact with a god and receive some divine message. I'm curious about other, more elegant solutions to the issue.

Thanks!

Alternatively you could say that he's been hoarding scraps and bits of magical scrolls and artifacts trying to pore over them at night and learn how to cast magical spells in conjunction with his swordplay.

As for the druid technically he doesn't have to be beholden to a god to be an oracle. He simply receives power from one perhaps a nature god saw his work and wished to grant him unusual power or it could be supplied by a darker god of destruction hoping the fool will use his power unwisely and surrender his druidic ways.

Oracle is easy. You don't choose to be an Oracle, the Gods choose you. Maybe they decide to make him a prophet or maybe he incurs their wrath. Somewhere a God decided to take a special interest and says "You, You get to see what's coming. And this is your price for seeing it."

It could be a good god trying to warn him of something so that he can save the world or it could be an evil god saying "This is the end of days and there is nothing you can do about it. Behold my terrible glory and let it be the last sight your eyes will ever see"

one way or another a God touched him and it leaves a mark, a mark that will never go away, but at the same time it leaves him open to powers that being a cleric or druid never could.

Magus is harder. He needs to study, to learn, not just about magic but about fighting with magic.
Introducing a Mentor could help. Strange old veteran with mysterious arcane fighting techniques. Maybe the old guy is looking for a student or maybe he needs to be convinced to teach one.
Mentor might even have a quest the guy has to complete first to prove his worth.
