Prestige classes as feat chains?

Homebrew and House Rules

Hey homebrewers out there.

For a few moments an idea came to my mind.

Erase all evidence of the prestige classes an make feat chains out of it. Would this be a good idea?

Maybe with normal prequisites, but they cost no normal feat or maybe just one and then you progress this feat chain each time you meet the preqs for the next feat. That this take on prestige classes feel more like a template that gets mightier the higher your class level gets.

I haven't worked this out, it is only a theoretical approach on prestige classes.

There are many that can be worked out like that, but there are also some that need a bit more focus. Eldritch Knight for example doesn't work without its own dedicated class (although we do have the Magus for a similar niche now).

Speaking of which, let me plug myself a little

The "Kirthfinder" thread has ideas for doing this with anything other than core classes. Its an amazing idea and I have implemented a lot of his concepts into my game.
His ideas not only fix issues with the current Pathfinder ruleset, but they also make the game more fun for my players (which is my ultimate goal).
