So ill be running my pc's through a crypt of lamasthu..
And i was playing around with the idea that as soon as they step foot into the crypt, they either suffer from the shaken or sickened condition. Due to all the ancient curroption.
Now ill let them make a fortitude check to shake of the effects, but what should the dc be and is this counted as a trap? And if so how to work out the cr..
The table 13-3 doesnt really help much.

Isn't it usual procedure to first do a save against a DC and only get sickened or shaken if you fail?
I suggest DC=(10 + 1/2 CR + Ability Mod of threat if applyable) or simmilar.
It is a trap if it is triggered somehow, starting when someone enters and ending when all are dead or exit. To me the description is more a lingering Area of Effect and not a trap, similar to maybe the effects of a sacred/profane spell affixed to a shrine or such.
how would you set the challange rating?
I'd say the DC should be approximately "APL+10" or "APL+11". So, if the party is level 10, the DC would be 20-21.
I don't think there should be a CR for this; it's not really a trap, but rather simply a property of the area. You should probably include some sort of source that can be destroyed/disrupted (like an altar), or another method to permanently end that feature of the location (for instance by defeating the crypt's BBEG, or clearing the crypt of undead, or something similar).

Yeah i agree that there shouldnt be a challange rating, because it doesnt cause them damage or has the potential to do so. Seems right.
well at the end of the crawl, the hole thing collapses in on itself, so its permantly stopped.
They are 2 level 2 players, so a dc 0f 2 plus 10-11 seems fair..
