Are Multiple Metamagic Items Permitted

Are Metamagic Items allowed to work together on the same spell? (specifically in PFS)

My example being:
Acrimony Veil (face slot, functions as a Lesser Empower Metamagic Rod)
Lesser Maximize Metamagic Rod

My wizard currently may be able to purchase both. Could he use both to both Maximize and Empower a Fireball?

There are no PFS specific rules exceptions here. You cannot use more than one metamagic rod on the same spell.

You can use a rod with a spell that has been memorized with metamagic added to it. Just not two rods together.

Expect table variance. This walks the line. The veil is treated AS a lesser empower rod for evocation spells, so some GMs might treat it as a rod for how many meta items can be used on an item.

"Treated as" means "treated as" unfortunately. You have a rod, and another item that's exactly like a rod (treated as one) except it's on your face. So no, they do not stack.

It's not a bad thing. I used it on my wizard this weekend and it was cool. But I didn't pay 13k for a lesser version, nor would I given that I already carry several lesser rods. My wizard has empower aas a feat and it works well enough for her 'ion cannon' attack.

Empowered Intensified Lightning bolt great for most hordes of charging mooks.

My Magus wants the Veil. His hands are always taken up, and he never learned Empower Spell.
