Can Multiple Metamagic Items Be Used

I have the ability to purchase

The Acrimony Veil (face slot functions as a Rod of Metamagic Empower)
Rod of Metamagic Maximize

Could I use both of these items to both Empower and Maximize a Spell?

And if yes. Does anyone know if its allowed in PFS?

You are only allowed to apply a single metamagic rod per spell, so if the "Acrimony Veil" functions as a rod, then no you can't. Not by RAW and not by RAI. If you had the actual feat then you could apply that to the spell and THEN apply the metamagic rod, but remember using the feat raises the spell level, so might require a better rod.
