Aura of Chaos (Protean subdomain) action economy

Rules Questions

It is clear that turning this ability on is a standard action, but what about subsequent rounds? Is it a standard action each round to maintain it or does it just continue for the listed number of rounds on its own? Also, every similar cleric domain ability I can find (example: madness aura) specificies that the rounds do not need to be consecutive. Do the rounds therefore have to be consecutive (and thus the ability not dismissable) since this ability does not havr that clause listed?

Thanks!

Casting a Raise Dead on this as it is a good question that didn't seem to get addressed.

Anyone happen to know or care to take a stab at an answer?

It simply continues without concentration, and the duration does not have to be consecutive. When in doubt, look at similar abilities and assume it functions like them. I just recently played a high level game as a cleric of Gorum and this is exactly how the ability was run.

The part that concerned me was the absence of text saying "These rounds do not need to be consecutive"...which would seem to indicate they need to be...thereby meaning you only get to use it once per day.

Hopefully the consensus is clear that they do not need to be and it indeed functions like just about every other Domain Aura that's based on (cleric level) rounds per day.

I have never talked with anybody who thinks these kind of domain powers have to be used all at the same time.
