Good evening, my fellow players and Gms.
I was wondering if there is someone among you who can help me make some sense out of the Undead Master feat.
First of all, does the Command Undead feat count as a legitimate prerequisite for taking Undead Master?
Second, does Undead Master increase the Cleric level for both animating and commanding the undead (using the Command Undead feat)?
Also, since there are a few topics on this very subject, is there a way to have an official answer from Paizo?
Thank you in advance for your kindness and forgive my poor English.

1. The Command Undead feat doesn't appear to count as a prerequisite. The reason for this is almost certainly that the Undead Master feat was deemed too powerful for clerics to gain access to it as early as level 3 (if human).
2. The Undead Master feat seems to be a bit confused in its wording. As written, it doesn't grant users of the Command Undead feat any benefit at all (despite clearly mentioning it), since that feat doesn't grant the ability to animate undead. Thus, the only logical answer is that UM must be intended to increase the effective level for commanding undead with CU.

And yet a Wizard specialized in Necromancy can have it at 3rd level.
@Megailmigliore It is the spell command undead that is the prerequisite not the feat.
As for the wording, Are's response is the most commonly accepted interpretation I have seen.
Now for the official response, you can try calling for FAQ hits from people and see if you can get a response that way. There are also times the right people in Paizo will be reading through and jump in with a response. I am unsure of any sure way to get a response though.
