Spell slinger + metamagic question

Rules Questions

A spellslinger can cast any ranged touch attack, cone, line, or ray spells through his arcane gun.
and
Reach Spell (Metamagic)
Your spells go farther than normal.
Benefit: You can alter a spell with a range of touch, close, or medium to increase its range to a higher range category, using the following order: touch, close, medium, and long. A reach spell uses up a spell slot one level higher than the spell's actual level for each increase in range category. For example, a spell with a range of touch increased to long range uses up a spell slot three levels higher. Spells modified by this feat that require melee touch attacks instead require ranged touch attacks.
Spells that do not have a range of touch, close, or medium do not benefit from this feat.

Would using this allow you to use other spells like shocking grasp and chill touch? As applied it turns into a ranged touch attack yes? I know it says that ranged thing but I figured while i'm asking the bottom half I might as well confirm that bit haha. incase of any eratta or something that I don't see

With regards to chill touch which gives you level amount of "shots" would this allow you to use your arcane shot over a the course of a few rounds (if your bab is high enough.. can you full attack with that spell? I know you can if you held the charge and attacked with hand to hand when the spell isn't "reach"ed. )

Are spells like this one (http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/ultimateMagic/spells/sonicThrust.html#_ sonic-thrust) Sonic thrust says it requires an attack roll but doesn't label if it's ranged touch etc.. I assume it's a ranged touch attack though but there are a few spells like this that just say attack roll.

Telekensis has that focused shot (which is basically the spell above) that lasts as long as concentrated, could you just blast people each round with that and your gun?

1. Yes, it should be able to "sling" a touch spell. Keep in mind that arcane gun doesn't change the range of the spell, though, so no sniping with chill touch.

2. You are still delivering a ranged touch spell, not making an iterative attack. It would work just as if you had say reach chill touch normally except you'd get the bonus and risks from arcane gun--one attempt per turn. Note that there is some dispute as to whether you can hold the charge for a touch spell with Reach Spell applied, but it shouldn't matter for this spell, though it would for, say, reach shocking grasp.

3. If it isn't a ranged touch attack, cone, line, or ray, it doesn't work. It wouldn't make sense with the spells you mentioned anyway, as you aren't aiming a spell directly, you're picking up an object and hurling it with your mind.

Ah.
Wouldn't having the reach metamagic on chill touch let me shoot one off per round then? Could be decent usage if the gun had decent buff on it. gun's buff damage, normal spells damage. Not epic but pleasingly consistant I guess.

I dunno I just imagined me clicking my gun towards them (i'm influenced by anime and heroes I guess) and the item jetting towards them. Same way people in shows/books/anime etc do a gun finger click to shoot an item at people..

So spells that say what those spells say mean they go agianst normal AC? What would you use for attack roll? (as it doesn't really list melee or ranged. though I assume ranged since it's got a distance)

Arcane Gun doesn't buff the damage of a spell cast through it. It adds the gun's enhancement bonus to the spell's attack roll or saving throw DC. I suppose you could call the x3 critical hit multiplier for a single attuned gun a damage buff, but it's pretty situational.

Spells like telekinesis that just say "attack roll" are against normal AC. The context should make it apparent whether that attack roll is ranged or melee, though most spells specify.

This stuff is why the spellslinger is often considered a lackluster archetype compared to a straight wizard or a gunslinger. But they're actually pretty fun, even if you're unlikely to actually use the arcane gun for casting for several levels. The novel way to boost spell DC is a nice perk, and the class as a whole has serious flavor.

yup yup looks like all kinds of fun~

Using reach on chill touch would prevent multiple attacks as it woukd no longer be a melee touch spell which is required to hold the charge.

would it? that's too bad.
I thought/hoped you'd be fine because the spell itself tells you you get X number of attacks intead of the normal "holding the charge". That whole specific over general thing.
