This would probably be best in the Advice forum, but I'll toss in my two cents before it gets moved.
There are many roles for Animal Companions. If you want your Animal Companion to do damage, then feats like Power Attack and Improved Natural Attack are the way to go, as well as giving it some Armor proficiencies so that it can survive the attention it will likely be getting.
If you want to immobolize your enemy, I've seen a lot of Constrictor Snakes in PFS. It grapples, constricts, and pins your foe while the party goes to town on it.
The list of feats for Animal Companions is pretty limited, so it's easy to pick what you want from them. If you plan on upping its Intelligence and giving it some non-standard feats, there are guides to that in the Advice forum.

Oh! Hmm. Not that many that I know of.
Boon Companion feat for multiclassing, Beast Rider feat for Half-orc Rangers/Paladins/Oracles of Nature, Eye For Talent alternate Racial Trait for Humans, Celestial Servant feat for Aasimars, Improved Share Spells feat, and the Andoran Falconry feat, if you have a bird Animal Companion.
None of those "increase damage" per se, but they can give you options you might not have otherwise.
