Just received Skinsaw and I am a bit disappointed about the cards balance:
No new Divine Magic offensive spell... Not even another ex of Holy Light....
No new animal allies, AP1 got the Toad at least.
Only 1 Divine spell ! But 4 arcane spell... And the only divine is banish after use.
Frankly, it's been a while since Lini got anything interesting and she will face AP3 with basically the same power than AP1...

Well pretty much all the Divine casters got shafted in AP2. That divine spell [Consecrate right, don't have the cards in front of me]is kind of a joke. It is so situational and Banish on use no matter what...I don't see a place for it in anyone's deck.
I looked at Consecrate and concluded "it's decent card if you pick it up during a scenario, but no one will ever keep it between sessions." Kinda like the potions in that way. Heck, that seems to be true in general of most "banish to use" cards.

If I had a divine character with lot of spells and a lot of blessings, I might consider carrying Consecrate over as a sort of insurance policy, but probably not with the characters, as I play them. I find the Holy Candle to be much less costly (bury instead of banish, doesn't bury my blessings). I will say I think the mechanic is pretty cool though.
One card that basically screams "Lini" (if she takes "weapon" as a card power) is the Scyth+1: "If any d4 rolled on this weapon is a 4, count it as a 5" (ruled as meaning any d4 rolled in this check). Her attack would be 1d4 (Strength) + 2d4+1 (weapon) + 1d4 (animal) + Xd4 (blessings), which gives 4+ chances to convert 4's to 5's.

Good point Flat, I missed it.
And a very good reason to choose weapon as the extra cards.
Found it annoying that divine caster are still stuck with inflict while Arcane have so many attack spell and so many variants.
Also between Lini, Seelah, Lem and Kira (possibly Harsk later) competition over the few divine cards upgrade is a lot fiercer than for the Arcanes.

Not that it will make you feel any better, Nathaniel, but this is somewhat consistent with the non-card Pathfinder RPG (don't know if you come from a Pathfinder background or not). Divine casters generally have much less damaging spells than their arcane counterparts.
I haven't started Skinsaw yet, so I haven't looked at the cards (I generally don't until I play, as it seems like meta-gaming too much [you shouldn't know what is there before you go, but in a card game where you can replay scenarios, maybe it's not so bad]).

For large groups that are constantly up against the blessing deck Consecrate is amazing. We got it twice during skinsaw murders and we needed it both times.
I play Lini in my group and I can't complain too much, I do feel like Arcane has much more variety, but Holy Light is a beast of a spell and even inflict can deal with most people no matter what. Hopefully part 3 has new fun animals and divine spells, but so far I am content with what the character can do.
We ran into the scythe once but didnt get it, I have a longspear and have been pretty happy with it, but now I am intrigued with what it can do.

Not every character class is going to get stuff from every AP. Judging by the way things have gone in our games so far, Lini is one of the more capable and rounded heroes anyway, so isn't as much in need of buffs as some of the others right now.
Yes, and let's be fair--until part 2, divine had the best spells in the game in pretty much all areas (some were both arcane and divine, of course). Holy Light for attacks (strictly better than the arcanes), Aid for assist (possibly Find Traps for a circumstantial but extremely potent assist), Cure for curing, as well as cards that both could use like Augury. Arcane had very little to make divine jealous until Part 2 with Haste and Lightning Bolt. Arcane's advantage was basically in having swankier evades, and in the 6 player version, evading can often give you a turn crunch.
