shield spell 1min / lvl

I can't seem to find an offical ruling on this. Is the duration based off of caster level or charc lvl? IE: A 3rd lvl charc is 2rouge/1wiz. Does shield spell last 1 min or 3 mins. I personaly think it should be caster level but I want to make sure I'm not telling my group wrong. Thanks in advance.

Anything in a spell that's based on your "level" refers to caster level. Otherwise, it will specifically say "character level" (such as some features of a wizard's familiar).

CRB Page 208:
The general rule is thus, "A spell's power often depends on its caster level, which for most spellcasting characters is equal to her class leve in the class she's using to cast the spell."

The reason it says "often depends" is that there are exceptions to this general rule. For example if you have a class feature or other special ability (feat, trait, item, etc) that raises your caster level beyond your spellcasting class level then it would be higher.

Generaly speaking though, your caster level is equal to your class level in the spellcasting class that is casting the spell.
