Mythic Arcane Trickster - Ray Specialist

Advice

Hi guys, so my group has been playing for the last 6 weeks or so these characters. This weekend we did 1 long campaign and wound up getting two levels, and the GM surprised us with a Mythic Tier. Now my character has been taking levels of Ninja and Umbral Sorcerer in order to become an Arcane Trickster. She specializes in Rays.

I essentially need help in deciding my Level 7 feat and my mythic Tier. Its gotta be either Archmage or Trickster. Archmage has some nice options for path abilities. Mythic Bloodline for one. Trickster was something that came to mind after a little thought. Which path do you think would provide me optimization on my rays. Also which Mythic feat should be taken?

This is where I am at currently at of Level 6: Human Umbral Sorcerer 4/Ninja 2

Stats:
Str - 8
Dex - 18 (16 + 2 on belt)
Con - 14
Int - 12
Wis - 10
Cha - 23 (18 + 2 for human + 2 belt + 1 level 4 boost)

Feats:
Story feat (special feat given to us by GM for our characters. Mine does +1 level for spell casting for every 2 levels of non spell caster taken)
Human - Point-Blank Shot
1 - Precise Shot
3 - Weapon Focus (Rays)
5 - Improved Initiative
7 - ??

So with now being level 8 I will be taking 1 more level of Ninja, and my first level of Arcane Trickster. I am contemplating taking another level of sorcerer at level 9, so I can grab a rob of Arcane Heritage and have access to the 9th level sorcerer ability.

If anyone can give me advice on the path and feats (assuming it goes to 20) We are to assume we will hit Mythic tier 3, as per the GM, so I want to plan those out as well.

** I plan on grabbing improved critical for Rays once I hit +8 BAB. Its only +4 right now. Mythic Improved Critical will be fantastic, trying to save that for the third tier maybe**

Scarab Sages

I would take the thief path... Much better for the trickster style.

I could take arcane strike for my seventh level feat. Then take my first mythic feat as mythic arcane strike, so activating it once lasts 10 rounds. This would free up the ability, so i can use quickening spells when i have the slots available.

Thoughts?

Yes trickster would make sense, but what path ability ;o

Consider Dual Pathing. Trickster with Archmage taken as your second Path.

Arcane Strike does nothing for your ray spells.

Are you sure LazarX? I've seen it argued that since Rays count as Weapons, that you could use Arcane Strike on them. It seems silly to me, but it looked like the RAW logic was there.

^ this is what i saw too. It just wasn't worth it before because of not being able to use quickening spells. But now since it i would only need to do it once every 6 rounds AND instead of just adding a 1-5 value of damage, I can add a magical weapon property instead, the power of Rays may have just gone up a lot.

instead of a +5 scorching ray shot 3 times at level 20, it could wind up being Scorching ray of Flaming (5) for 9d6 per ray. with 7d6 of sneak attack.

any more opinions?

You have to charge up your weapons before you strike as it's a separate swift action. What is there to charge up when you haven't cast your spell yet?

I'm not saying that arcane strike has no value for a trickster, but you can't use it to charge up spells.

I guess that's really how you interpret the turn order then. Ive seen it listed several times that it does work.

That makes sense to me LazarX.

Anyways moving on from the arcane strike thing. Already spoke with my DM, its fine he read it the same way I did. Any other recommendations for feats?

I was thinking Empowered, Maximized and Quickening Spells. That being said, would there be any point to getting Spell Perfection for one of my rays?

Spell Penetration is probably the next most important option.

Scarab Sages

I love the free movment otpions from the trickster path.

My first mythic ability was Mythic Spellcasting. Its too good to pass up right now.

Gives my Mythic Scorching Ray or mythic haste off the hop. But I will be taking Trickster Path, probably going to get dual path ability in mythic tier two to grab something from Archmage later.
