How to represent evil dolls "chucky" style?

Advice

Hi guys I fancy throwing a new villain at my pcs based on the old fantastic four villain the puppet master.

My two questions are whats the best class to build him? witch? wizard? and also how do I represent his evil murderous dolls? would they be a form of Golem or is their a particular monster i'm forgetting about which more perfectly suit an evil chucky clone? I have all the bestiaries apart from number four yet.

Silver Crusade

Soulbound doll with class levels, created by a psychopath. :)

Follows the alignment of whoever donated a piece of their soul, and can even be brought back repeatedly by using the doll's soul focus to construct a new one.

There are now advanced versions in Bestiary 4, but they all leave murderdoll territory on account of their size.

"Murderdolls" can (and I think should) come in a variety of flavours:

  • Animated objects (both permanently and temporarily)
  • Regular dolls moved by an Unseen Servant (those can't really do much, but they'll screen for the more potent ones)
  • Miniature golems
  • Soulbound dolls (as mentioned by Mikaze)
  • Intelligent items with the power to move themselves, who happen to be doll-shaped
  • Illusions of dolls
  • Dolls animated by henchmen through the Possess Object spell
  • Dolls who aren't animated at all, but just sit there looking creepy
  • et cetera

It seems to me that if you want to emulate Toulan (the wizard from the Pupprtmaster series) and his killer dolls, use the soulbound dolls and a wizard with the Golem Constructor feat. Then use the rules for modifying/weaponizing constructs as you like to add specific weapons (blade and hook hands for Blade, Burning Hands for Torch, Oversized Limbs and Improved Grapple for Pinhead, etc.).

"Chucky" himself seems to be a male witch using a specialized version of Possess Objects or soulbound doll, as his entire soul crosses over and he retains spellcasting ability.

Sounds creepy as all hell- carry on!

If I recall correctly, one of the books for Council of Thieves had some killer toys/dolls. Though they were all low CR and wouldn't be nearly as awesome as these suggestions, they might be a worth a look for initial stat blocks or something.

There is a toymaker with a possessed toy problem in the Korvosa guide.
