Archer plus crossbow discard power

Quick question - sorry if it has been asked before.

Can the archer ally provide the extra die when you use the discard function of a crossbow to help someone in another location?

I don't have the card in front of me, but if the archer has the typical "your combat check" verbiage, then the answer is no. Discarding a crossbow to help someone at another location helps their combat check. It still isn't your check, so you can't use cards that say "your combat check".

If the archer doesn't have that wording, then I'll have to wait to see the exact wording before answering you.

Fromper is correct—the Archer can add to *your* check, but not your friend's check.
