The town of Sandpoint needs you!
It's time to build some characters, figure out how play by post works, and play Rise of the Runelords .
Only if you send me an e-mail first. I am doing this for friends it is not an open recruitment.
You can find the message formatting --> Here
There might be a few bumps, I'm used to tabletop, so bear with me.
Play around with it a bit, and make a post, I'll be back soon.

Welcome to Golarion
For character creation everyone gets 15 build points, that's the standard, Plus 1d4 to that.
So there will be a little variance to make it interesting. I want to see the rolls like this 1d4 ⇒ 2, that should give everyone between 16-19 points to spend on status, then + or - any racial modifiers.
point buy calculator
I'm not too picky about race or class, but any 3rd party stuff needs an okay first.
I would like everyone to take one trait from the campaign traits
here
as well as one additional trait
here
A thrid trait can only be taken if a character takes a drawback from
here
I hope I didn't mess anything up, if you have any questions let me know.

Checking in.
1d4 ⇒ 2
Well, that's looking to be nifty. I'll stay something up by the end of my shift today and submit it as soon as possible to you.
For everyone else, I'm Robert. I've been gaming for awhile now and am a former Venture-Officer for Pathfinder Society Organized Play. Basically, I have quite a bit of experience with this, so if anyone needs help with anything during this phase or beyond, let me know. You can PM me here or get ahold of me via email at pathfinder.beasley@gmail.com.
Thanks again for the invite, Light.

Thank you, here is a link to the player's guide.
It looks like things are getting started nicely.

Rerolling the bonus stats now as 2d4.
What is everyone else making? I'd like to balance out my build with the rest of the party's composition, so I'm holding off until I know. I have plenty of executable concepts, so we're good there. I see a ranger and a Druid so far, so what else are we looking at?
2d4 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6

Alright. With the look of the setup thus far, I'll likely be utilizing my Life Oracle Paladin. The build is made to both heal as well as tank.
Just call me Beazy.
The GM's asked me to help you guys out, so if there's any questions and you can't reach him, feel free to email me at the aforementioned email address of pathfinder.beasley@gmail.com. For background and verifiable experience, I was a Pathfinder Society Venture-Officer down in Tampa, Florida until I moved a few months back when I moved and resigned. I make it my job to help people out because I love Pathfinder with a burning passion. This community is my extended family, so I got nothing but love for y'all.

There's no set time for these types of games. Once the GM makes his first post, we hit the ground running and post when we're able. Typical posting schedule is preferred to be 2-3 times a day depending on the pace, but can be more or less (down to 1-2 posts per day). Once the game is underway, it's up to us and the GM to keep the pace. As long as we're interacting, the game should be a success. If there aren't any posts for days then we oughta start worrying. I don't surmise that to happen here. Play-by-posts are roleplay heavy, so crack out your dictionaries, thesauruses, etc. and get ready to game!

The town of Sandpoint is getting closer and closer. Autumn is just beginning, and the weather is nice. For those of you who have traits that place you inside town, its the perfect time of year for a festival.
I hope everyone has had a chance to look at the players guide.
I know you have had some help making your characters, but I would like to see everyone try and use the formatting to avoid hiccups once we get in game. There is a link in the first post that will show everything. Robert posted a useful guide here also.
- I want to be sure everyone knows how the dice roller works.
- I want everyone to know the difference between out-of-character commentary and "in character speech".
- You might need to change and upload pictures like the two in this message, I'll post a battle map when combat starts; then we can use it to move on our turns. Imgur works great for me, but as long as it works I'm not picky.
- I want everyone to know how to use the spoilers. whole party:For things not everyone would know, or specific details.
I appreciate everyone's work and patience, only a few more things to finish before we arrive at the
town of Sandpoint.

This is bold used for Charecter talking and italics I'm unsure when I'd use.
- one
- two
This is bigger and this is smaller.
This is out-of-character commentary so possibly asking someone a question outside of the game??
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 101d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 <-Saddly I don't get the way the dice work... I shall ask Vincent Leone, Severed Ronin((Detective Inspector Dresen Cale)), or Norward Uthradar.

Dude, we really need to get this started :)
When Norward was 16 he got too brazen one day and decided that the black robed monk with the rather large coin purse didn’t NEED that much money and that he did. It was the best worst choice he ever made. Reason being that he got caught. The monk though was a monk of Irori and felt that Norward had a severe lack of discipline and self-betterment. The monk made Norward an offer: he would either turn him into the authorities or Norward could go with him and learn the ways of Irori and become one of the holy inquisitors that purged the land of the unclean. The monks reasoning was that Norward did show exception talent and if not for that the monk was a master of
perception and self-awareness he would of gotten away right there.
Norward made the right call and accepted the monks offer to be trained. 5 years of toning his body, sharpening his mind, and learning how to call upon Irori for power to use magic. On the final day of training right before the final test the monk placed a spell on Norward’s cloak that whenever he wore it with the hood over his head that his face would be obscured with a magical shadow. This way only those whom he deemed were allowed to see his face were able to. It became his custom from that point to not wear any icons or symbols that would give away who he was. This cloak he wears to this day, it has kept him alive on more than one occasion because no one could ever find him because his face was hidden. No one but his class mates and Syrick, whom the monk allowed him to keep, knows what Norward looks like.
His final test was to go find an unforgivably unclean person, bring him in for judgment and then execute the person upon conviction. It took six months for him to find a person that was unforgivable, but when he did, he brought her in. The trial took two weeks and when they found her guilty Norward quickly issued a coup de grâce and thus was given the right to pass judgment and cast judgments upon himself.
Now 22 years old and an inquisitor for the Ferver order under Irori; Norward traveled the local region bring order and betterment to society for 3 years. Afterwards he handed the mantle of that region to someone else so that he could travel and cleanse an area that believes in Irori but yet to have an official inquisitor. He traveled east towards the city of Sandpoint, he stopped at every city, town and village on the way though to make sure all was still good within the order. The trip took him 4 years, and he learned a great deal about life and social situation… mostly to learn how to abuse the system in order to further the cause. On his 26th birthday he arrived in the city of Sandpoint and went to the best pub in town to celebrate, there he learned about an adventure he did not expect to ever get the chance to be a part of and went out immediately to find out how to get involved.
Norward leans in close to your ear and whispers in a demonic sounding Demonic "أستطيع أن أشعر ضعفك، تاريخ لحم الخنزير المقدد، ولن يدخر لك"
Bluff: 1d20 ⇒ 14
oh, and a funny image

Also, for those who didnt read the help page here is the summery:
How to play by post
Blue text = is out of game stuff Ex. Talking to other players not characters
Be descriptive: “Psioney walks over to where Minmaximus while eating and asks ‘Can I borrow your sword?’” not: “@ Minmaximus: ‘Can I see your sword?’”
Italics = Thoughts Ex. So that’s what my internal monologue looks like thought Psioney.
Bold = Telepathy Ex. Can you hear me now? Psioney whispered directly into Minmaximus’ mind.
Bold in quotes = "talking out loud"

Since our DM has said that if you can be in town, and that there is a fesitival I'm going to start... I'll hide it in case I'm jumping the gun.
The town was lively, humans were running about laughing and smiling. Lavinia froze at the sight of them.
I have to get away Lavinia thought.
Lavinia rushed through the streets trying not to draw attention to herself. She found herself along side a cliff. Below was the sea.
How beautiful, she thought, I've never seen the sea before.
Mesmarised by the turning waves, Lavinia pulled out her Ocarina and began to play a soft tune, drowning out the crowds festivities.

There's going to e a gameplay thread where we'll post all in-character posts once the GM gets it set up. In addition, there's going to be a discussion threa where all of our OOC chat will go. These will be linked in an overall Campaign Journal, so all you have to do is click a tab and it'll take you to the corresponding thread.
As te gameplay thread is not yet created, just remember to copy/paste in that thread once the GM makes the appropriate postings.

Don't worry about being a "noob" or whatever. We all got to start somewhere. I was in the same boat fifteen years ago when I picked up gaming and again when 3X came out and again (vaguely given it wasn't that huge of a change) when Pathfider came out. I've also played Cortex, Fate, GURPs, and several other systems as well, so I know what it's like. Play-By-Post is damn near like learning a new system because it's got its own subset of rules and whatnot.
Ultimately, that's why I'm here among a couple of the others I believe. I want to see you guys succeed and flourish and go on to do the same with others down the line. Is getting to play after awhile of not getting to play a bonus? Yeah, but it's not my incentive.
Hmm, I'm going to mull some things over with Tucker and see what I can do help y'all out.

Okay. here's my backstory. it's short and probably not very informative, but I'll probably add things to it as the game progresses.
Life… what an interesting concept… There are so many ways to live… You cannot always choose your main path for life; sometimes it’s simply thrust upon you, whether you like it or not. When you’re a half-elf, life is anything but easy. Discrimination follows you everywhere. At first I tried to hide my elven traits and fit in with humans the best I could. Then I fled to the outskirts of the Mierani Forest once I was found out.
Why? is always my question and How? will usually follow behind it. Why does life have to be so cruel? Why do I have to be a half-elf? …and then how can I prove myself? How can I find acceptance and a happy life?
I spent most of my late teen years in that forest, staying away from the elven villages and fending for myself. I devoted myself to knowledge. There was always something new to learn and discover. Knowledge seemed to be the only true wealth a person can have, that doesn’t have to reflect on their origins. Once I began my search for wisdom most of my worries left. My mind would only concentrate on one thing, okay maybe two things, knowledge and sorcery.
Magical draconic blood flowed through my veins and gave me several draconic traits such as claws. I traveled the land of Varisia, looking for ruins to study. So much wisdom has been lost. I plan on learning all the knowledge that was lost. On my quest I became determined and strong. I wouldn’t let others words hurt me, not anymore.

Ok Im dropping in now, hope its not too late:
Here is my back story. In this universe there is nothing but order, even chaos is nothing more then more complex order. Or at least that's what the man who called himself Clock (short for clockwork) believed.
Clock had been orphaned as a child, and was brought up by the mage clerics of Nethys. However his inherent differing philosophy kept him isolated from those who should have been his brothers. They mistook his questions of the cosmos as questions of faith. In reality you would be hard pressed to find a more devoted follower to the god of knowledge, magic and destruction.
Eventually Clock decided to leave his temple upbringing and take a pilgrimage, but of course Nethys cares for little of pilgrimages, little for anything except for magic, and so Clock's pilgrimage was not a pilgrimage of geography, but a pilgrimage of thought. He would not return to his temple until he understood the true nature of the universe both in chaos and order.
