Two-Handed Mechanics: Couple Qs (not a great search term)

Rules Questions and Gameplay Discussion

Hi Guys,

I was wondering how you have been handling the two-handed trait. It's not the most friendliest forum search term so forgive me if this has been discussed already.

I'm assuming playing a two-handed weapon like the Great Sword mostly means you're unable to play certain additional items on a check (like the Dagger) or when taking combat damage (like the Wooden Shield).

Is that basically where the mechanic lies right now or are there other game play areas where the 2-handed trait is a big deal? Maybe it's a sign of more things to come?

Thanks in advance for the knowledge share,

Ben

The Dagger doesn't say you can't use it with a two-handed weapon (I think the idea is that you throw it at the foe before you engage) but shields explicitly say that they cannot be used with two-handed weapons.

There may well be more to come!

Hey there h4ppy,

Yeah - I never really thought of it like a quick dagger fling (before drawing the sword). Shield for now makes total sense.

A few more daggers falling into Valeros' hand sounds good to me:)

Thanks,

Ben

Silver Crusade

Suits of armor tend to be better than shields, anyway. There is that one fire-proof magic shield that's pretty good, though.

Aye, the two non-basic shields available are both quite good... but so are the available 2-handed weapons! Trade off, trade offs!
