When creating a mythic version of an existing monster with SR by applying the mythic subtype, how do you calculate the new creature's SR?
The subtype says to increase the SR by the mythic rank. OK. However, SR is usually 11 + CR, and the new creature's CR will have increased by half its MR.
So is the new SR = old SR + MR
or is the new SR = 11 + new CR + MR.
Looking at how this has been applied in Mythic Adventures, the first two demons, the marilith and nalfeshnee, both seem to have failed to include it, having SRs of 11 + new CR.
Marilith SR 28 (11 + CR 17); Mythic Marilith SR 32 (11+ CR 21). MR 8 not applied. It should either be SR 36, or 40.
Nalfeshnee SR 25 (11 + CR 14); Mythic Nalfeshnee SR 28 (11 + 17 CR). MR 7 not applied. It should be SR 32 or 35.
So is the subtype wrong and the new SR is just based on the new CR, or are the published creatures wrong? If the latter, how should they be corrected?

Thanks for your attempt to answer Mojorat, but you're wrong in several areas and don't seem to have understood my question.
1. SR is based off CR, not HD, and is usually CR +11. Refer to step 8 in Monster Creation for the guideline and then actually spot check a bunch of monsters to confirm.
2. Oh look, a marilith's SR is 11 + her CR of 17 = 28. The published SR of a mythic marilith is 32, not 36, which is 11 + its mythic CR of 21.
So thanks for bothering to reply, but please do a little research in future. It'll save us both some time.

So we have a standard rakshasa which has a boosted SR of 25 because they're especially magic resistant, of 11 +10 CR +4.
A mythic rakshasa, by that standard, should have 11 +12 CR +4 = 27, which it has.
We still don't seem to be getting MR added to SR. I'm beginning to think it was supposed to be removed from the subtype.

It was likely supposed to be "increase by half the creature's mythic tier", as stated earlier. The fact that this matches the new CR would be intentional--follow this process to mythicize a monster and you end up in the right place.
Worth FAQing for errata.
The description of the mythic subtype states: "If the creature has spell resistance, add its mythic rank to its spell resistance." However, the example mythic monsters have their SR increased by only half of the creature's mythic rank. Is there an error in the subtype or the monster stat blocks, or is this difference intentional?

I am guessing no update on this. I just tried to build a mythic great wyrm red dragon, and kind of throws a monkey wrench into it. I think considering the stats blocks or the subtype are wrong.
SR is normal Cr+5 or 11 depending on creature
Cr for mythic creature is = cr +1/2 mythic tier
This could be going 3 ways. Based on the way I read it.
1. So you have a new CR and this is what is reflected in the stat blocks of mythic monsters New cr +11
The subtype suggest a bonus of mythic tier is supposed to be added to. But stat blocks don’t reflect it. (this entire part should be removed from book based on universal monster rules of spell resistance being = to CR +11 or 5 the mythic bonus is already included because the cr increase.)
2. If it is meant to be a bonus it is not reflected in the stat Blocks at all, it needs to be added to those monsters and it may be a bit much over kill because a tier 10 monster would be adding +15 to his SR. +5 from increased cr and +10 from tier.
3.If it is meant to be a bonus it should more than likely be reduced to half 10 tier that way full tier is really added. +5 increased cr and +5 for half tier.
I have a feeling the intent is supposed to be a small bonus due to the increased cr and the stat blocks are correct. That rule under subtype should remove from further printings of the book.
