Hi,
I finished Brigandoom scenario last night(victory) and as such my reward was to receive 1 random item from the box.
Thing is Seelah cannot carry an item into the next scenario!! as I have to go down to my deck list from what I have gathered during brigandoom scenario + scenario reward.
It doesn't end there! Seoni cannot carry a weapon in between scenarios either, yet the reward for completing poison pill scenario is to draw a random weapon from the box!!
I had a look but couldn't find a post relating to this. (there probably is one out there somewhere)
I have decided to take a random blessing from the box instead as after all she is a paladin! (I know I know brigandoom doesn't reward any blessings)
Just wondered what peoples thoughts on this are?
Happy Hunting.
peace
Edit: I have decided to give Seelah a random armour card instead. I think until there is an official rule adjustment out there I will take a favoured card type as a reward if it conflicts with afore mentioned dilemma

I really doubt there will be a rules adjustment on this... the idea here is that it's a cooperative game, and if you're not playing solo, it's likely that someone in your group will be able to use the type of card the reward gives you, and you'd just give it to them. As you start into the Burnt Offerings scenarios and go on, you'll find that the rewards start being things that everyone can use (Skill feats, Card feats, Power feats, Loot).

Of course and I do enjoy the fact that we can share cards in between scenarios, also during a game too ( if at the same location )
However I am running a solo campaign with Seelah so I can never carry an item between scenarios, so the reward is irrelevant to me.
I agree there will probably never be a rule change.
Like I said for solo campaigns if the reward conflicts with your allowed deck build list, I'll take a 'favoured card type' instead.

Even when the card type of a reward is something you can use, your random draw won't always be something useful. I played Poison Pill with Valeros solo, and his weapon reward was a quarterstaff, which promptly went back in the box. Sometimes, the rewards are good. Sometimes, they're not.
Chances are slim you'll get anything you really really want for sure ;)
That's not the point.
The point is why give a reward that you can't even draw from the box?
C'mon the reward for completing a scenario has to be worth something, no matter how small or if you don't like the card.
The fact is that when completing the entire campaign(solo), some players(dependant on character) are going to look down at the reward section and say 'I don't get a reward'
Perhaps this was intended!? and that's just the way the cookie crumbles.
All said and done....Happy Hunting....I'm off to finish The Poison Pill with Seelah :D

Well, as others have said, if you're in a group, you can share your reward with someone who might want it more.
But really, given the chances of your reward being a card that isn't worth keeping, even when it's a type you could have kept, I'm guessing that the rewards will turn out to be worthwhile roughly the same amount of times for all characters. In 33 adventures from the base box to the end of the adventure path, you're probably going to end up getting a reward you can't keep/don't want fairly often, no matter which character you play.
Remember, you're playing a campaign, not just an individual scenario. Don't worry about each reward - look forward to the good ones you'll get later.

This is pretty unofficial, but I've said before that you should play a game in which you're having fun. If you're soloing, and the scenario doesn't give you a reward you can use, trade it in for a random reward. Try taking one random card from each boon deck other than loot, shuffling them up, and drawing one. Or do something else you like, within reason.
Like I said, unofficial.

First off thank you Mike for replying to me for a perhaps slightly unimportant (compared to other's at the moment) rule.
Secondly I am having fun playing this game! too much fun some might say.I still like my adopted house rule of taking a 'favoured card type' :D
Thirdly I think we all have to take a step back and pull the reins on the horses so-to-speak.
I am 36 years young and was using the old D&D role playing system when I was 13 years old + right into my twenties....When I look back at the system I don't remember any rule interpretation issues(and there was) I just remember the great adventures and good times I had. Can you imagine the amount of forum rule threads the designers/developers would of had if there were forums back then when that system was released!!
Think about what we have with the base set + expansion BO + char add on deck with our first purchase/s. What we have here is a great base set with many locations and characters loot monsters etc.......what I'm trying to get across is if we had this game years ago we would have adapted, improvised and overcome any rulings and problems we came across -on our own!!- in a sensible thematic role play way and used the contents in the box to enjoy great adventures time and again.
Just have fun adventuring heroes :D I know I am.
Just give it time, it will work.
