Sipping Jacket and Invisibility

Rules Questions

Scarab Sages

If I have a potion of invisibility in my jacket, use it for a turn and attack, does the remainder of the duration in my jacket dry up or can I use it again on next turn?
Thanks

Dark Archive

The sipping jacket can only store a potion with a duration measured in rounds or instantaneous, so you can't technically put an invis potion in there, since that's measured in minutes.

Scarab Sages

Can't use a potion of Invisibility in a sipping Jacket.

DESCRIPTION

Absorbent fibers line this heavy canvas coat.

Once per day as a standard action, the wearer can pour a potion onto this lining, suffusing it into the coat. If the potion has an instantaneous duration, the wearer can activate the coat as a swift action to consume the potion. If the potion’s duration is measured in rounds, the wearer can activate the coat as a swift action to gain the potion’s benefits for 1 round, repeating as desired each round until the potion’s entire duration has been used. These rounds do not need to be consecutive. The coat absorbs only potions with instantaneous or round-based durations, and only those which affect creatures (for example, it does not work on oils). Once the coat absorbs a potion, the potion cannot be retrieved from it, only used as described above. The absorbed potion loses its powers after 24 hours, even if unused.

Since Invisibility is Minutes based and not rounds based you can't do what you think you can do. You can, however use a Potion of Vanish.

Isn't a minute a round based duration?

Not really. Sure, 1 minute = 10 rounds, but when it comes to spell groupings and, in this case, balancing mechanisms, they really aren't the same.

You can always use a potion of vanish though.

Also, If a Potion of Vanish has a caster level of 4, lets say (200G), can I then use if for a round, attack and use it again next round?

Only if you've got one on a chronicle sheet...

That's correct. Otherwise the only one you can purchase, has an effective level of ONE.
