Can you have a giant riding geco, and then make it large with a giant template?
If the creature doesn't have the giant template, then it can have the giant template applied. Thus, giant giant vulture.
Technically, a GM can apply the giant template more than once, but the numbers don't work well. Better to just advance the creature using the rules for monster advancement( templates are a helpful shortcut, not an omnitool.
