Inquisitor Judgement of Resistance clarification

Rules Questions

Liberty's Edge

So, my group has never had anyone play an inquisitor yet until now. We are just starting a new campaign with my taking the DM seat and I have a player with an inquisitor. I always like to keep a copy of the character sheets so I have something to reference when planning out things in advance and like to put them into Hero Lab. When I put in the inquisitor it shows that a specific element needs to be chosen in advance. Reading the ability though gives me the impression that the specific element can be selected each time the judgment is used. Can anyone clarify exactly how this works so there is no question in my mind come tomorrow night? Thanks.

Hero Lab is good, but it is not perfect.

This is the Inquisitor ability

Resistance: The inquisitor is shielded by a flickering aura, gaining 2 points of energy resistance against one energy type (acid, cold, electricity, fire, or sonic) chosen when the judgment is declared. The protection increases by 2 for every three inquisitor levels she possesses

Very straightforward on the wording. You can pick which energy type when you activate the ability.

You can choose every time judgement is used. Now about switching it to another judgement type then back it will probably be the same as its not a "declaration" .

the judgement can be switched each round right? so isn't switching just declaring which judgement your'e using that round? so you can switch it round to round?

Might be, but also might be that "declaration" is when you us on of you daily judgement uses to "pronounce you judgment upon the enemies" or whatever wording says. Switching it does not consumes a use (but still swift action). Tho maybe this action is considered declaration, as you said.
